St. Emilion
We were wandering around the small wine city of St. Emilion and, as is our wont, headed for the periphery. Here I got images of the vineyards, small farms, and –looking backward — the church steeple that is the major landmark or the town, but from an angle that combines it with the old village road that would have characterized the town before the tourist invasion.
Post processing notes:
There were huge contrasts of sunlight and shadow. I took a hand-held 5 exposure bracket and merged them into an HDR in on1. There were numerous adjustment to get the light right throughout the image. The flat wall on the right was cropped a bit, but I wanted to include the lantern and I didn't want too narrow an image. This shows the narrow street leading from the farms toward the center of town.
