Rescue
I was inspired by another photographer on a video channel to setup a photo perch with these home made Jake Horn characters near my garden window to create some characterful interaction with garden wildlife My grandchildren love them, as do most of my adult friends it seems.
This photo is a true ‘Rescue’ because just as the Jake Horn character is on a mission to rescue… So the photo itself required an amount of rescue using ON1.
It was shot through a double glazed window from about 4m and the light was poor so the photo was underexposed and needed quite a bit of corrective work but as the moment captured was so special I needed to try. I’ve since moved my camera outside to get better detail but this one remains one of my many favourites.. So thank you ON1, this is the first occasion I have shared my efforts outside of family and friends
Post processing notes:
Used Brilliance AI to give me a starting point. Then adjusted overall Tone & Colour manually. Used Local settings for 'animal' to mask and brighten the Jake Horn character and bird (a young Coal Tit - I think). Also brightened up the foreground branch. Used NoNoise AI on 2024 which is so cool (standard settings) as is which helped to reduce the impact of the window glass and graininess. I like the result and is a true rescue for one of my favourite moments. I have many more.Exif information:
