Raymonds’s Neighborhood
Photo was taken in July of 1980 at a neighborhood block party. It is a Kodachrome slide scanned with an old Nikon slide scanner. Thanks to ViewScan software for supporting this device since Nikon stopped supporting it.
I was house sitting there for a couple who went off to Italy for an opera tour. After living there for a month, this gringo was warmly accepted by the neighborhood , which allowed me to take very good portraits of the residents while I lived there. This group shot shows the diversity of the people. Raymond was my main friend while I was there that summer of 1980.
Post processing notes:
Processing consisted of: Careful cropping. Noise reduction with some Tack Sharp applied to keep focus sharp. Starting with Brilliance, a bit of Tone and Color tweaking, including increased vibrance. Some color adjustment on the drink canister to make it's orange tone match the other red items in the photo. Transform used to make the view look nice and rectilinear, Wes Anderson style. "Natural" Dynamic Contrast added.Exif information:
