Political Aspirations
This is a composited image. In 2022, I captured the Bald Eagle mates on their perch having a conversation. It’s one of the most unique Bald Eagle photos I’ve ever taken. The original photo has blue sky behind it. To me, it was too mundane to leave it that way. In 2024, I was experimenting with long exposures and captured the American flag gently blowing on a cold winter night. I had a themed competition coming up and this image was used for that. All of my photography is done for competition purposes so my final image may be straight out of the camera or a composite with as many as 6 images combined. I also use 3rd party resources for skies and backgrounds. If it weren’t for ON1, I wouldn’t be able to be as creative as I like to be. ON1 opens up a whole new world of art for me. Post processing notes:
I knew how I wanted to assemble this final image. In layer mode, I started by replacing the blue sky behind the eagles with my image of the American flag. Knowing that politics can smack of smoke and mirrors at times, I used the local adjustment mode to add an effect of fog at the very bottom of the image and then stretched it to my taste. These were the major elements in developing this image. Other smaller adjustments such as toning, sharpening, and moving image parameters were also used. Voila! It was a finished ON1 image exactly the way I wanted and needed it for my competition. The logo can be removed if need be.Exif information:
