Of Sun, Fog and Ponderosas Pine

This was near Minaret Vista in Mammoth Lake , California on November, 1, 2023
As we were heading back to the hotel from shooting at Minaret Vista that morning, I saw this shot on the East side of the road coming down from Minaret Vista Overlook. The Sun rays seemed so in focus with the light rays shining through the Fog and the Ponderosa. I had to stop. I captured about twenty-five shots or more but this vertical shot told the story I was looking at.
The Sun light concomitant with the thick Fog produce some very strong and sharp rays through Ponderosas Pine.
It had an Ethereal feeling. Something great than just another photograph.

Post processing notes:

On1 Raw allowed me to make to subtle adjustments I was looking for without compromising the Raw data. Brilliance AI gave me the perfect foundation for using Local adjustment to highlight the raw data without losing or destroying any data. My style of Black and White editing is to produce the most grayscales image available. General edits will look almost flat without much contrast. Once I have the base edit, I break down, Highlight, Midtones and Shadows for contrast and clarity.
