Night Flyer
One of my pleasures is taking photos of steam locomotives on a clear cold winter day but for my visit to Swanage in January this year it remained stubbornly wet and overcast. As it was turning dark the rain stopped so I thought I was try one more go with the last train of the day. By the time the train set off it was almost fully dark so I chose this location with back light from the servicing area. I used manual settings to keep full control of the image and ended up with my best shot of the day and probably this year. I only had control over the camera, all the action was random.
Fujifilm X-T4, 23mm F2 lens, iso 10000, 125 sec F3.8, RAW
Post processing notes:
All processing has been carried out using ON1 RAW MAX 2025. The image was under exposed so correction was made in "Develop" Tone and Colour. No Noise AI was perfect as reducing the grain in the lighter areas. Effects used were HDR (Glow), Dynamic Contrast, Colour enhance to bring out the red and tone enhancer to reduce the glare from the workshop. The addition of the white border helps to give the image the right background. The aim of the processing has been to stay true to the original sceneExif information:
