Moon at SmithRock
I was testing out a new lens and camera , Sony a7s and Sony 70-300mm G. Oct 11 2018. I had recently attended a Astrophotography outing and learned a better way to shoot the stars. I was actually waiting for the Milky Way to rise in the sky and saw that the setting sun and moon were amazing. As the sky got darker and darker , the image just got better and better. Then I noticed that Jupiter was shining brightly below the moon. All these elements came together for this shot. It was only after I got the image in my computer that I realized that you could even see the moons around Jupiter. As with most of my photos, This one required very little editing. ISO 2500, F5.6, 1.6s Sony A7s , Sony 70-300mm G at 220 mm. Location , Smit Rock, Oregon.
Post processing notes:
Edited in ON1. First the Image was cropped a little and then colored corrected. I also pushed up the saturation a little bit to enhance the setting sun colors. The colors were a little bit washed out from the city lights of Redmond and Bend Oregon. Those cities are to the left and behind the direction of the shot.Exif information:
