Meet Miss Kitty
This owl is very special to me. She resides in a bird sanctuary/hospital about a mile from my Florida home. Many years ago, she was shot in the wing, rescued and has lived at the sanctuary ever since. Her name is Miss Kitty. I like to free her by putting her into scenes away from the sanctuary. This shot is a composite and both owls are Miss Kitty. The sky was a stock sky from ON1. Something very exciting about this photo. The Veteran’s Administration holds annual art contests at each of their hundreds of facilities and the winners in various categories are sent to Washington DC to compete for national awards. This photo took first place at one of the largest facilities in the county in St. Petersburg, FL and amazingly went on to take first place out of hundred of finalists becoming the grand national winner!
