This picture was taken on October 31, 2023, at the Orsay Museum in Paris. I spent five days in Paris with two other photographers. Our aim was to discover Paris photographically. My friend Robert really wanted to go to the Orsay Museum to photograph the famous clock there. When we arrived at the museum, we stood in a long queue. The waiting time for entry seemed too long, and we were prepared to forego our visit to the museum. I then walked past the long queue to the entrance and asked how long it would take, telling them that there were three of us, and we just wanted to take a photo of the clock. The young woman at the entrance saw my Nikon camera and said: “Get your two friends, and I’ll let you past the queue.” No sooner said than done.
Back from the clock on the upper floors, I came out of the elevator into the big room with the big pictures. The boy stood quietly in front of it for seconds. I quickly put the camera in front of my eye and triggered the shutter. Then the boy was no longer visible.
Post processing notes:
Back at home, I ignored the picture at first. The vibrant colors of the pictures on the wall made the scene look so daunting. Later, I converted the image using Photo RAW to black and white, added perspective correction, some careful doge and burn, noise reduction, and cropped it appropriately.Exif information:
