Loch Naver In The Gloaming
This shot was taken at the end of a very long day.
I had been touring around Northern Scotland looking for suitable subjects without any real success so I decided to make my way home (Alness, Scotland). Trundling down a track alongside Loch Naver, I rounded a bend and was met by this sight. The light was almost gone (we were almost into the gloaming phase – The word originates from the Old English “glōmung,” which means “twilight” and also to the Old Norse).
For me, it’s a very evocative time of day.
