I Stand Alone

2 Days before Christmas, 2024… After a morning filled with photographing the morning fog in rural central Illinois, I was heading home when I decided to check out this last location where my wife and I once considered buying property. The fog had mostly lifted by this time, but some remained. The tones in the grasses along with what remained of the fog left this ethereal looking scene that I absolutely loved and needed to be imaged. The addition of textures in post-production helped me to accentuate that ethereal and peaceful, quiet moment.

Post processing notes:

On1 Photo Raw 2014.5 Original photo combined with multiple textures layers (rather than texture filter effects) so as to allow for greater control of each texture resulting in an .onphoto file sourced for the final export. Each texture used targeted masking, different blend options and opacity levels to get the right mix. Effects filters added included Tone Enhancer, Dynamic Contrast and Film Grain. Additional Local tone adjustments made to the base image targeting select areas with masking.
