Highlands Biological Station
Highlands, North Carolina is situated on a mountain plateau averaging more than 4,000 feet above sea level. Highlands is one of few temperate rainforests in the United States. The Highland Biological Station serves educational and recreational experiences and features a well-tended trail encircling Ravenal Lake (featured in this image).
