Eye of the Afternoon
Captured during a quiet moment in La Hulpe park, this portrait of Tyra, a gentle dog with a soulful gaze, was taken on a peaceful afternoon walk. What I’m most proud of is how the reflection in her eye encapsulates the larger scene — a moment of stillness surrounded by nature. Lying close to the ground, I wanted the viewer to connect with her perspective: grounded, calm, and quietly observing a world we often rush through.
Post processing notes:
Edited in ON1 Photo RAW. Post-processing was intentionally minimal to preserve the natural tone of the scene. I lifted contrast slightly and gently reduced highlights to bring subtle texture into the fur. A touch of midtones and shadow recovery helped maintain depth without over-softening. A single Color Enhancer filter targeted the sky, primarily to bring out the clarity and detail of the reflection visible in Tyra’s eye. No artificial effects or heavy retouching applied.Exif information:
