Dancing in District 13

This was taken during a guided tour of District 13 in Medellin ( Colombia ) in Feb 25, during a day of rest on a cycle tour from Bogota to Cartagena. We had been to see the loud, colourful pathways and escalators leading up to the top of the hill, and then our guide took us down through the back alleys, to remind us of how poor and destitute this area still was, despite the changes that had been made over the last 7 years since the peace agreement. Coming down the steps amongst barking dogs, litter, fighting cats etc, I turned left and by chance this girl was dancing in an alley just outside her back door. One click, one photo…..and I was lucky enough to capture her spinning round and looking directly at the camera. I hope you like it. I do.
