Black Veined Whites
In Serra de Nogueira, Portugal photographing butterflies in June 2013. The female butterfly, on the thistle, was attracting males who were vying for position.
Post processing notes:
I re-worked the image in ON1 Photo RAW MAX 2025. I had several shots of this event and I created a composite replacing the top butterfly with a better version of itself from another shot in the series. I removed some distractions from the image, I sharpened and added contrast to the butterflies and thistle, added a glow and a vignette to the background behind the butterflies, and added the frame and title.Exif information:
