Abstract Fun with Candlestick
As a recent On1 user (and long-time Photoshop user), I thought I would take an older photo and see what I could do with it in On1. After several tries, I landed on this one – a photo of a candlestick I took in 2016. I tried some things that worked, and some that did not. After lots of layers, local adjustments, and especially having fun with effects and imported textures, I ended up here.
Post processing notes:
Edited using Photo Raw MAX 2025. Candlestick isolated (the original background was blurry kitchen) and light blue paint layer background added. Bokeh layer added in between and set to lighten blend mode. Shrunk this layer, duplicated and rotated 4 times. Added a black and white pollen texture set to lighten blend mode to the candle. Added several local adjustments and black and white, dynamic contrast, sunshine, and weather texture to the candlestick to make it stand out. Finally, after all the tweaking was done, made a stamped layer with a glow behind the candlestick, a paint palette texture, and a slight vignette.Exif information:
