A flamingo working to look its bestWhile talking to a guide
While talking to a guide at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh in April 2025, I noticed a flamingo preening just below the visitor deck. I grabbed one shot, the flamingo stretched out, and the moment passed. But I still have the moment.
Post processing notes:
In ON1 Photo RAW 2025 I cropped and did some basic exposure adjustments, and then Brilliance AI made the bird look really good—pretty much as I had dialed up its appearance in my memory of the encounter. Adding a Dreamland glow (90 percent opacity) and a good old Big Softy vignette dialed down distracting foliage around the flamingo.Exif information:
