About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

We are working with users on how this should work.

It would be a nice feature if there was a duplicate finder. This would allow us to free up space on our hard drives by finding exact duplicates. Reviewing them. Then deleting them. As I have copied photos and videos on my hard drive and renamed them I have found that there are many duplicates...

It was a function in Lightroom that you could view in a second monitor what your were viewing or editing and I would like to see it added to On 1 2018. I use 2 monitors and it is handy for numerous reasons, the ability to view magnified in a second monitor is an asset...

It would be useful to be able to re-edit changes to unmasked areas created with a line tool without going into layers where it is only possible to re-edit a non-raw file.

Camera profiles are becoming more and more important – and it gets also easier to create and design them. It would be very handy if I could add/use my proper set of camera profiles in On1 Photo RAW.

I’d like to see a way to establish user created categories of keywords and, with the click of a button a way to see those keywords organized within the categories. For instance, Architecture could be a user created category, as well as a keyword. However, other user created keywords could be organized within the Architecture...

When exporting files in JPEG format,  I don’t see the approximate file size at my chosen quality level.  This is important since quality and file size are obvious trade-offs, and I usually aim for about 4 MB files (depending on intended use).  Since file size is not available, my only recourse is trial and error...

Please make it possible to delete keywords. I have many images with different keywords. There is one keyword I would like to remove from all images. This is not possible (at least I don’t know how) as if I select all the images there are only the keywords displayed for the last clicked image, so...

I have a lot of Lightroom presets, and I am sure that others the have worked with that software does also. Some I purchased, some I created. I would be nice if you could develop a Preset Migration Tool, that would allow you to import and use a lightroom presets in Photo RAW. Maybe even...

Everyone’s taking videos. Videos have great value for Social Media as people share with friends, family about their interests, adventures, vacations, etc. So how about the ability to edit videos in ON1 and a ways to post in social media? Photoshop CC has a platform that lets the user work with a timeline to make...

When I add a texture I can modify the saturation, brightness and hue shift. One feature that would help to add some textures like clouds and walls more realistically would be to add some kind of blur to the texture, so that it looks like the clouds or walls are out of focus. Also when...

My primary drive is a solid-state drive (SSD). My secondary drive is a hard disk drive (HDD). To save space on one’s SSD, it would be nice if one would be able to specify the storage location of one’s imported ON1 presets. Indeed, even though preset files are rather small by themselves, they required quite...

Would be wonderful (indeed almost essential) to provide a facility for scrolling back and forth through the previous editing steps, seeing the results for the various steps and providing ways to ‘bookmark’ various stages in the editing process. Ditto for the ability to make “Virtual Copies” of the edited version at different points in the...

Dunno about you but I find that gray font on dark gray (almost black) background impossible to use. We need a way to select different color schemes for the UI…not just the Preview bg.

The reason this was and is an issue for me is I do a lot of astrophotography, and use astronomy program to stack images for a more detailed finished image, so take multiple images (20 to 40 images), apply the same edits/effects, but need to crop them down to a smaller size, but the same...

Currently, My Extras allows only JPEG files to be imported for custom backgrounds and textures. That implies pre-processing the photos and limiting additional processing once a background or texture is incorporated into the main photo. Being able to import RAW or DNG files would allow specific processing to match the main photo and produce a more coherent...

Currently I do a lot of my editing in Lightroom, but would very much like to reverse that process, and possibly use RAW as the go to standalone editor. Part of that process is adding ratings, flags or other things that could be used as filters — also location information, etc. To save that added...

I do advanced portrait retouching. The tools I use most are Dodge and Burn, the clone tool, and frequency separation, with some tone mapping. This is all after basic corrections like exposure, color, and clean up of blemishes etc. The most important function for the brush tool that seems to be missing is Flow Control....

I’d like to see better organization in Albums other then alphabetical. Topic headings would be a good idea. Move away from a flat file config. I made 4 albums using EXIF info to sort on 4 file types. Woked great, They were in alphabetical order. Then added an Album for Author Problem is is this...

I have VERY many presets (ONEffects file format) prior to OnOne RAW (original or downloaded). I had backed them up by manually copying the files (and the subfolders I had organized them in within Effects) to another directory/drive. Whereas these presets DID migrate to OnOneRAW’s new ONP file format, now the names of the files/presets...

Like many professional photographers that work with wire services, I need to follow their standards when sending live photos to the wire. My particular service requires us to limit our uploaded photos to 4MB maximum. My previous workflow was to use File Mechanic for ingesting, keywording and captioning a photo, and then drop the file...

Hi there, here is an idea that may or may not be possible. Using Nikon as an example, it’s in-camera jpeg images, as rendered according to the in-camera settings, are usually quite stunning. However, most raw processors then take the raw file, and render according to some engine characteristics plus any import presets, and the raw image can look somewhat...

Colorchecker Passports are a must for a professional workflow in many areas like product, fashion or wedding photography. Current tools (e. g. lightroom add in) are horrible to use, because the creation of profiles takes many clicks and even includes closing and reopen lightroom in between. Why not combining the white balance selector with the profile?...

Since PhotoRAW is said to really truly harp on speed, I for one would find it extremely beneficial and much more enjoyable to have the ability to hit the “F” key from within the browse grid view and go entirely fullscreen with our image and nothing else.. no tabs on this side, menu bar removed,...
I love using textures on portraits, however in On1 effects, you cannot remove the texture effect on skin and still leave the color imparted by the texture. This is done in Photoshop by making a selection of the area and then using the Guassian blur to render it invisible but the color stays.

A raw engine is great but without the flexibility to turn those photos into prints its a moot point. The ability to soft proof, use icc profiles and the ability to layout different size photos on a sheet or roll is paramount to the professional. Capture One lacks this and Lightroom is ok but a...

As others have mentioned, please add Geotagging capability (really simple: just drag photos onto Google or Apple Maps).   That would really make a work-flow difference to those of us who geotag, so we don’t have to export and import to a whole different program.  key feature as I choose between Lightroom, Capture One, and...
