Just a reminder to everyone that we have only a few days left in the August photo contest for Plus members. We have seen some great submissions, and hope to see many more before the contest closes on Tuesday, August 25.
If you missed the original post, I’ve added it below, which also includes a link to the submissions page:
August Photo Contest
Instead of the standard Plus critiques, we’re going to have a photo contest for Plus members in August. There’s no theme: what we’d like you to do is submit one of your best photos from the past year or so. Other than that, there are only two rules:
If you think one of your best pieces is one you’ve already uploaded to the critiques, don’t worry – feel free to submit that. The goal here is for you to think about – and showcase – your best work.
Submissions will begin on Tuesday, August 4, and will run through the end of the day, August 25. The uploads page is at https://www.on1.com/plus/critiques-gallery-upload/
We’ve partnered up with F-Stop for this contest, and, for each of the three finalists chosen by Hudson and me, they’ve graciously agreed to donate a $75 gift certificate, good for anything in the F-Stop store, and a Dyota AG+ Ion mask.
We hope to see your photo in the gallery!
ON1 Plus is alive and well. We’ve been working from home, developing new and exciting training materials (and software improvements, of course). As many of you are now spending most of your time at home, we hope this has been an opportunity for you to fuel your passion for photography and take advantage of the membership benefits.
July is traditionally a slow month, photo-wise, but we still received some good submissions for the Plus Photo Critiques. It’s great to see long-time posters raising their game, and well as a few critiques newcomers. Hudson and I picked more than 20 photos from the group to talk about this month; click on the link above to view the video.
Hi Everyone,
We’re back for another monthly recap and look at what’s ahead. Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete the survey last week. We will listen to your feedback and make Plus even better!
When I set out to write the three-part series about the ON1 past, present, and future, my goal was to paint a picture of a company that listens to photographers and outlines all the cool stuff we have in the works. I’ve read every one of your comments and emails; some good and some bad. Both are great and thank you for all the comments, feedback, and requests. The ON1 team considers all customer feedback invaluable, and I want to take the opportunity to address the most common themes. In the spirit of complete transparency, let’s dig in!

As we celebrate 15 years of ON1 photography with new releases of ON1 360, ON1 Photo RAW 2020.5, and ON1 Photo Mobile, we wanted to share a little bit about what’s ahead in our product roadmap. Where do we see ON1’s focus a year from now, two years from now? As good as our software solutions are today, we believe the best is yet to come.
When most people think of ON1 today, they think of ON1 Photo RAW, our flagship all-in-one workflow app. It combines digital asset management, raw processing, and powerful effects into a convenient, non-destructive layered workflow. As proud of it as we are, we realize that we are part of a broader workflow community. I’ve talked to thousands of photographers over the years, and all of them have a slightly different way of getting their work done. Like there are hundreds of recipes for chocolate chip cookies, there are endless ways to manage and edit your photos.
First off, I hope you are all doing well during these crazy, challenging times. I personally find that my creativity thrives during unexpected challenges and times of personal struggle. I may not have the answers or solutions to the problems at hand, but I do have the power to choose how I respond. I always try to turn my negatives into positives. I hope during these times during lockdown you have been able to get inspired from others and find a little more time to pursue your own creativity.

For the last 15 years at ON1, we’ve taken a lot of pride in being different from other photo software companies, and we couldn’t be more excited for the next 15 years. We promise to continue meeting your needs as a photographer by giving you a say in the products we develop, choices in how you purchase and deliver a complete line of software products for all photography workflows. ON1 will always be professional photography software designed by photographers, for photographers.
