In the latest ON1 Plus exclusive video, you will learn how to speed up your organizing workflow with the add subfolder command to mimic stacks from Lightroom. You will also learn how to quickly audition and select presets with the oft-forgotten Quick View Browser. Last you will see a full editing session to create a poster with a torn, transparent edge using layers, borders, and luminosity masks.

Hi Dan,
thanks for the very good video. I took the tipp with me to define a keyboard shortcut to add a series of pictures to a subfolder to my workflow. This will be then real quick. I tried the same for the “Show subfolder content”, but its not possible as keyboard shortcut. Is there a limitation?
When applying a preset – I sometimes by mistake do a double-click. This adds the effects twice?
Kind Regards,
Gerald

The Show Subfolder Contents isn’t an option in ON1, but if you are on a Mac, you can add a Keyboard Shortcut through System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts select App Shortcuts and then you can type in the menu name and select the app you want it to work in. If the app doesn’t show, select “Other…” and then browse to it. There is probably a Windows equivalent, but I don’t know it. The menu doesn’t change, so the shortcut works as a toggle for the effect.

Hi Dan,
just watched the video. Thanks for the headsup on these features. The subfolder thing brought me to the idea to have an option button in the Panorama, HDR and Focus dialog. Once the option is taken, and for instance the panorama is completed, all the pictures used for that are moved in a subfolder which has the name of the first and the last picture and maybe a prefix like Pano. By that you would end up with a clean catalog full automatically.

Excellent video. On1 now has a huge range of capabilities (I have been a user since On1 Photo Suite 5!!). The big opportunity now is to teach us users how to use the capabilities. So these videos by Dan are very very useful

This was a great video, showing in just a few minutes several important things I am glad I now know. I do have a question, though. I store all my images on external HD. If I were to make subfolders for a one of my files, would those folders show up in my catalogue on my ext HD?

Bet a lot of hidden Jems are in On1. More of these would be greatly appreciated.

Being able to select groups of images out of a shoot, put them into subfolders, then add metadata will help me manage folders so much easier. I must try that straight away. Thanks Dan

Hi Dan
If there is a hidden secret for the following, I would appreciate it
I have been cutting out a hollow statue. The design is very complex, and with all of the back and forth.. whilst cloning, it used up all 8 GB of the available video RAM. Which caused Photo Raw to crash.
I got around the lack of memory, by creating a transparent TIFF, which effectively saved the mask and allowed me to continue with the masking.
However, I now have a few areas, where the original AI Mask made parts of what should be solid into semi-transparent areas. In the original ON1 file I could just mask these defects back in. But, when I layered the final transparent TIFF cut out, over the original image, the clone in tool didn’t work.. Is there are way around this?
Best wishes David Price

Really appreciate the tip at the end of the video regarding how to use the Borders to get transparent edges around the photo. Reminds me of the much-missed PhotoEdges app from a few years ago, and gives a lot of scope for using Borders when overlaying images on a screen backdrop or background, as well as on paper. Neat trick.
