    hello,
sorry for the stupid question but does this course on focus stacking also applies to jewelry and macro focus stacking ? i am speaking about the setups of Nikon camera, not about the landscape presets of course.
    best regards
    marc

Hey Marc, Not stupid at all. The course is more targeted to Landscape, but all the techniques for capture and post production will work for still life & close up work like jewelry too. In fact the automated focus stacking will work much better in such static scenes and you can likely avoid having to do hand blending. 🙂 If you have any questions at all about using the lessons for jewelry, then feel free to hit me up via email or in the Plus Ask a Coach forum. I’m always watching there.

yes yes me too Jewelry….. focus stacking…jewelry is its own category… so difficult
especially shiny … 3D jewelry that doesn’t lay or sit flat…and blends into the background regardless of what it is.. …….thanks

      Hey Toni,
Check out my response to Marc above. I don’t use still life, closeup examples, but the techniques I’m teaching should translate very well.

    Hi Hudson,
Could you comment about the similarities and differences with the presets you made for 2018.
Thanks for your good work !

      Yvan,
I approached creating them similarly, but using PR2019 which I think has some subtle shifts in it’s processing. I also think that each year I get a little more nuanced in my preset production. Like my previous presets, they are often more subtle finish editing results that give that extra pop to an image without resulting in an over-processed look.

        Ordered!
Should I get rid of older similar LUTs they may replace? Idem for some presets?
Keeps doing your good work! You are one of the main reason I kept faith in PhotoRaw since its launch… Fairness + honest to-the-point advices. Now, with version 2019, it is finally stable and usable professionally on my machine ! I’ve been patient with PR and I’m now a happy man !

Ha, Thanks for those kind words Yvan. Well, I would just use the Manage Extras dialog to organize the old into a Legacy category. I still go back and look through some of them and keep some of the old ones favorited.
I’m so glad its working well. I’ve been very happy with 2019.

Hi Hudson … what items are included in the sample pack? I’ve looked through “manage presets” after installing and am having trouble finding them under your name or “four seasons” … a downside to the ON1 install packages as you can’t see the detail on items included.

      Hi Katherine,
It should be Sample – Hudson Henry 4 Seasons.
      Hope that helps!
