This is the first in a series of tips videos I’m sharing with the Plus community. My goal for these videos is to help you keep a structured workflow in mind both in the field capturing images as well as and later in your editing work. In this first video, I’m going to walk you through my initial processing workflow in Photo RAW 2018 while sharing a few tips and thoughts about what order to use the powerful tools this software has to offer.
I’ve got a little surprise for those of you who tuned into our “Photomorphis Guide to Creativity” video series last month during my guest coaching stint. I ended our last video with a short speed video capture of my post processing work in Photo Raw to transform a raw image into one that makes an emotional statement. Well, sometimes when you think you’ve finished with an image, you get a lingering sense that there’s something missing, and maybe it’s not finished after all.
In the final video in this series I share with you my thoughts regarding creative techniques and processes. It is time to execute the idea! We’ll cover shooting, editing and post-production in this lesson. .
In this next part of my creativity presentation, I will discuss some of the methods I use to bring all the elements of an idea together in order to maximize the creative potential of that idea, in other words, to facilitate the synthesis of that idea.

We’ve called it the anti-workflow because it concerns ideas, a topic that can’t be easily outlined or defined by a set workflow structure. Ideas, whether they are very simple or very elaborate, need to come naturally from somewhere within you. To effectively harness the power of ideas you need to free yourself from the constraints of your logic and tap into the free flowing stream of all your sources of inspiration.

In this Live Q&A Laurie Excell and I announce the Summer Photo Challenge winners and run through some of our favorite images. It was an incredible group of submissions everyone. Great job! Laurie did a great video last week on capturing time-lapse footage with an iPhone. I wanted to showcase how I use my Android (a Pixel) to capture time-lapse and do a little comparison between the time-lapse output of a smartphone vs a big camera. It’s a short video, but somehow I manage to wander into a discussion of determining what interval to choose for your time-lapse as well as optimizing time-lapse shutter speeds. Below the break I added a little cheat sheet for the interval calculation:
