I’ve been testing a lot of new photo equipment in low light lately which leads me to do a lot of noise reduction and sharpening. Much of the work I’ve been doing is at really wide apertures with shallow depth of field and I’ve been thinking about ways to mitigate the blurring of noise reduction in parts of the images that are sharper and more detailed.

Photo RAW 2019’s non-destructive, layered workflow has just the answer I was looking for. In this video, I’ll show you a cool way to get all the power of Develop’s noise reduction and sharpening with the ability to target where it is applied as if it were an Effects filter or Local Adjustment setting.
I hope everyone out there is enjoying this holiday season.
