G’day Dylan from Australia.
I’m a old darkroom based hobbyist photographer, and I spent endless hours in the glow of the red light.
I haven’t watched all of your informative video yet, but when I do a mono conversation from a colour photo, I use the colours on the photo to help control the different tones in the ‘print’.
If you have, for instance a lot or red in the photo, I use the colour tools first to increase/decrease the red (or any colours) the hues and saturation of the red to control my final photo.
If, the reds are very dark, the conversation to mono make thoughs areas almost black. If I desaturated the reds before conversation, those areas are a lt greyer.
Other colours that I change are, green, blue and yellow tones.
This method is like I’m using filters in my enlarger, in my darkroom.

Great tips,
I just learned that when adding other effects to move them under the B&W filter improves the B&W by 80%.
Thanks, Great job also in the way you explain how to.

This was great. I have been experimenting quite a bit with black and white for the last year, but some of these tips were ones I would never have thought of myself. Thank you so much for these wonderful “teaching” videos.

Excellent video! I can get the hang of the first parts and the presets since I used On1-10 for a long time. Getting down the use of the AI with editing different parts of my photos will take me some time. I may be old and slow, but I am determined. =)
