Hey everyone! The response to my last video (watch it here if you haven’t already) has been incredible. Thank you so much for all the comments, stories shared, and extra tips. Great to know there are so many other “weird” people out there 🙂

This next video goes over some of the things I do before a trip to scout the location before I arrive and increase my chances of success. Some of the things covered…

  • Planning my trips around a new moon.
    • This isn’t always possible (like this trip to Oregon) but that doesn’t always mean the night sky will be out of play.
  • Using an app called Star Walk to figure out exactly where the Milky Way will be relative to certain landmarks or locations I will be visiting.
  • How I use Google Maps to get a visual representation of where I’m going and drop pins at points of interest along my route and/or area.

There’s so much more that I could touch on, but keeping this video below 20 minutes was hard enough as it was! If you need clarification on anything or have any tips you’d like to share, let’s talk in the comments below!
