About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

Currently you can only crop one photo at a time. Selecting multiple photos for the same crop isn’t available.  There is already a sync tab however it isn’t working and I have been told that group cropping isn’t available at this time.  I am looking to use On1 as a stand alone software however without...

When doing quick overall adjustments it would be useful if the preview would update without pressing enter or tab, since it would facilitate two hand keyboard operation with entering values on the right and correcting them with ctrl+z on the left. This could also be combined with using the mouse wheel for adjustments. The control...

When I open On1 it doesn’t remember what photo I was working on. It would be nice to have it open to where I was when the application closed.

To be able to crop by mouse would seriously speed up the workflow.  Thanks for considering.

I would like to be able to use the  left arrow to move along the images in the Filmstrip mode while in develop the way I can while in Browse. Ir is a waste of time and of the batteries in my Magic Mouse to have to click on each image on my mac

When opening in browse have the option to have the program always open in a specific folder rather than the last folder as is the current default.

Right now a double click in browse opens the detail view of the photo. I think it would be better to have a preference for a double click action. Detail view Open in develop Open in Effects Open in layers I rarely care about detail view but I always open/edit photos. Having a preference saves...

Allow us to create defaults for the detail panel that trigger on the camera model and ISO. e.g. Canon 7D and Canon 6D could have different settings. Canon 7D ISO 100 and Canon 7D ISO 3200 could have different default settings. So a default is always tied to a camera model. We can optionally have...

We can change previous edits in develop, effects and such. However, any previous Perfect Eraser, Retouch Brush and Clone stamp edits cannot be undone without also resetting all edits. I suggest we have the ability to remove these edits. Maybe a right click context menu on the tool with an offer to remove all edits...

I use external editors/plugins that do not have integration with On1.  I would like ON1 to have an improved workflow when using the edit in> function so that the edited file from the external editor/plugin gets automatically imported into my ON1 catalog.  For example, I use Luminar to edit photos (not Photoshop) and when I...

When opening a file from a third party app, such as Explorer or Finder, by dragging and dropping or by “open using” RAW opens creates a .psd file and opens in Layers. Opening in browse, or better still, directly in develop would be a very useful option.

Providing face recognition would be a great feature for On1 Photo Raw!  I appreciate your insight into the recent changes with Lightroom and would like to move but I use the face recognition feature to help keep all my images categorized.  If there’s another product that would accomplish the same results, I’m game to try...

On1’s resizing algorithm is one of the best I’ve seen, but there is one major limitation… I have a picture I need to print to canvases, more than one size. I have already done any edits for visual improvement & need only output to print. I can crop to my exact requirement, but then I...

Please could you add the option to ‘View Clipping’ and a proper ‘Histogram’, to take some of the guess work out of processing a HDR in Photo Raw 2018?  i.e.  before exporting the HDR to develop and effects.

Supposing I have a raw file that already has had develop and/or effects made to it.  Sometimes, I go back and make further edits only to realise that I don’t like the direction that things are going.  I would like the ability to go back to browse WITHOUT saving the changes I made during the...

Sometimes we want to flip our images vertically or horizontally for composition and aesthetic purpose, right now this feature is available only in Layers. The problem with Layers is it creates large PSD file and the flexibility of RAW is lost.  So, can you add this feature in Browse or Develop.

The ability to add metadata to multiple images seems to be restricted to Browse Grid View. You don’t want to know how many times I’ve selected multiple images in Filmstrip view and added a keyword and later found it only added to the highlighted image. Please modify Browse to allow metadata changes to all selected...

Almost every time I’m in Browse looking at an image I find myself switching from Browse to Develop just so I can toggle Preview off to check my original vs changes made in Develop and Effects. This is cumbersome and time consuming. Browse would be greatly enhanced by the ability to press and hold a...

I don’t like having to have a mouse button depressed in order to move a slider, it becomes tiring and is more difficult for an older person’s muscles.  Click and rotate the wheel is my preference when feasible.

I really like the possibility to Insert Presets when in Effects, by right-clicking on the Preset of choice in the Presets pane. But you can only do it from the Presets Pane, and not in the Quick View Browser. That’s rather counter-intuitive. I find myself right-clicking on Presets in the Quick View Browser all the...

when I retouch a photo (cloning, retouch and erase) there are sometimes many retouches in a photo, which cannot be altered later. Making a mistake sometimes means resetting all retouches and start again. It would be very time saving when all these retouches could be altered individually.

Currently the compare function in version 2017.6 only allows comparison of pictures from the same folder. Many pictures that I would like to compare reside in different folders. Suggest  changing the compare function to allow a users to click on whatever picture in whatever folder they want to compare.

Add an apply and save button, the same as you had in On1 10. It would save the hassle of going through export every time, and also allow for images to be automatically saved as Jpeg. Much easier for those of us who use On1 as a standalone product.

Currently the Preview on/off function is available in Develop and Effects. It would be a real time saver if it were also available in Browse in both Film Strip (F) and full image (E).

We should be able to get a quick/brief “View Clipping” as an option in Browse. As of now, we can use “Show Clipping (Alt-J) when in Develop. This is based on the exposure settings, but it’s not possible to see if a picture has burnt out highlights when we are in the Browse module. Very...

When I have completed making changes to my photo I know I can save them as a Preset but if you did this for every photo you would end up with literally hundreds of presets; even by putting them into a folder on their own would still mean a lot of presets. I know I...

I’d like to see the Lens Correction tool available in the plugin version as it is in the stand alone version.  Right now, they are different.
