About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

I reopen pictures to try new settings. A lot of times I fiddle with the sliders and don’t like the results and would like to reset the file to the opening state. It would be nice to have a single button reset to the opening state. I don’t want to have to create a new...
I realized when I am in “Film Strip” or “Compare View” and I move a picture from the bottom into another “Cataloged Folders”, the view mode jumps back to “detail view”. This is time consuming while you’re sorting your images. To continue you have to switch back to the right view and also scroll to the...
Many people take photos simultaneously in JPG and RAW. This is particularly the case with FUJI, with its film simulations. It could also be interesting to find effects made with other software. The command would analyze the JPG photo, and find all the development parameters to apply to the RAW file, to get as close...

It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...

My 36 Mb Raw files turn into 600Mb monsters after 3-4 filters in Effects. Unfortunately, there are still many reasons why I cannot abandon Lightroom just yet; there are too many features that LR does that cannot or cannot be done as well (yet) in Photo Raw. Can you at least add a “flatten layers”...

The ability to copy and paste local adjustments with masks intact and also straightening and cropping settings from image to image would be very helpful, if not essential, for processing a set of frames intended for time-lapse movies, or for stacking into star trail stacks in nightscape photography. It is a shame that the masks...

Already several suggestions on how to add more useful shortcuts. I really miss having a shortcut to return directly to Browse grid view – from ‘any’ module. «G» is the obvious choice.

When I’m adjusting capture dates, it is usually because I forgot to adjust for a time zone for a trip. As it is currently set, the dialog box defaults back to +1 hour every time I use the tool. Would be helpful if it defaulted back to the last value used. For example, I’m going...

In Photoshop Elements, when I use the panorama feature, the resulting .psd file contains the different images and masks used to make the finalized panorama. I like OnOne’s finalized panos, but I often find the pano needs some adjusting and there is no “history” to work from.

I have some interior photos with an outside view through a window. I’ve made 2 images, one for the inside and one for the outside. Besides the exposure difference I’ve used different white balances for the 2 images. I plan on processing them using layers so that I can mask out the window of the...

When you start to work on a photo, I would like to get the question: Do you want to create a version? (Like in the “old days” you got the question “Want to edit a copy or original”). I usually like to create a version but since I am not asked, I tend to forget....
hallo, i can’t re-edit a pure photoshop psd in ON1 browse. i have externally created a psd with photoshop with few layers : camera raw, sylver efex pro 2. i launch on1 and it displays the psd with a black and white thumbnail. super ! i right clic on psd and “send to photoshop with...

If I right-click on a thumbnail in an Album display in Browser, and Send To the ON1-edited version to another app (in my example, Nik Color Efex Pro), edit the file further (e.g. with the Solarization filter in Nik), and Save the result destructively as a TIFF from Nik, the TIFF is automatically cataloged in...

Can U please move the “add filter” in EFFECTS on to a docked sidebar so it is always visible? Or have a keyboard shortcut? It is annoying when I have an effects stack (often 15+) and having to scroll up to it every single time I want to add another effect. I know I could...

Quiet recently I began to work with equiluminance in my photos. The easiest way to do this is by observing the L-channel in a Lab readout. Unfortunately On1 PR does not support this. It would be great if a user has the opportunity to switch between RGB and Lab readouts under the histogram.

Unlike LR and PS, where you can go a side-by-side compare of an original and soft-proofed image while you edit the latter, in Photo Raw 2018.1 the only way to do this is by creating a version in Browse, then go back and forth between Browse and either Develop or Effects to edit the soft-proofed...
I use the Color functions all the time, and it’s time confusing to have to click “Show More” then “Color” then scroll down. I’d like to be able to indicate which controls show up in the default view, and to rearrange them in the pane.
I often have a series of 20-30 shots of a bird in flight, for instance, and among other things, I’m looking for the sharpest focus. It would be nice to be able to freeze zoom levels across a series of images (or lock zoom until you turn it off) in Browse so that you can...
Currently you can only apply a filter on one image at a time. Unless you create a Preset for it, but than you can only apply it to multiple images from Browse, and you will then overwrite all previously created Effects.
Currently if I’m not mistaken it isn’t possible to insert one effect onto more than one image at a time. That can only be done with Use Preset or with Sync, but then all previously made Effects settings will be overwritten. It could save time if it would be made possible.

Currently you cannot change one or a few develop settings on multiple files at the same time, without overwriting all other develop settings too; whether you’re using a preset or a sync-action. Cpuld be very useful and timesaving if it was possible (for instance with a dialog where you can check which settings to sync).

As the headline says. When looking at several copies of nearly identical pictures I’d just like to select and kill them, not have to toggle back to the Thumbnail view or tag as discards to delete later.

This works to achieve interesting effects, for example, when inverting lab colours – especially if coupled with ability to edit/mask by colour channel.
A back button to take you to the last viewed folder/item instead of having to re-find the folder. Particularly useful after adding to an album, I then view the album, then want to go back to the folder I just added images from.

It would be nice for cropping to be available within Effects when coming from Lightroom. Often I discover while in Effects that I want to crop before applying a vignette, but I must “get out” of Effects into Develop to do that (if I am not doing things wrong). Eliminating this extra step would be...

In Lightroom there is a handy tool where you can compare the picture while working on it with the original. In different -splitview- ways. It is THE way to see if you are done.
I tend to use multiple texture layers atop an image. I send the initial image to Layers and then start my texture work. Of course, this necessitates browsing through several different texture folders as I work on the image. When completed and I save and close the final image and return to Browse I am...
I do a lot of work with textures in Layers. It would be nice if the new layer would automatically become the selected layer rather than the previous layer remaining selected.
