About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

Purpose: To select groups of photos in the Browse list more quickly. Viewing photos in Browse I would expect that I could shift select multiple groups of photos. On Mac OSX, this is done in lists by: 1. shift select a group of photos (group 1) 2. command click on the next group starting point...
At present it is always Blues, Aachen, Campari, Timeless and Branagh. I would love to be able to have my 5 favorites displayed instead of having to search through “More” or create a preset.

The smart album and filter criteria let us select or filter down to images that meet the given criteria.  But they don’t let us filter out images that meet the criteria. For example, suppose I have photos from five different cameras, and want to filter down to photos from four of them.  Currently I would have...

Currently, smart albums and filters can select images by creation dates.  It would be useful to have options to select images by creation dates.  For example, “Modified Today” would allow me to quickly export all of the images that I was just working on.

To be able to select the order in which the photos are displayed before importing and renaming. For example, by date of capture.

It would be very useful to filter all those images that have NO keyword. So keywords can then be added.

Photoshop Elements has the ability to scan photos for people and ID those people and then tag the photo with the names of the people in it. Obviously there is a learning curve for the software. I often want to find all photos that have specific person or persons in it. With the PE feature...

Please can you include search operators in appropriate search criteria – for example focal length >= 50 or focal length between 14 and 70. Similar to those that were in Aperture =, >, >=, <, <+, between, is empty, is not empty etc for numeric fields contains, starts with, ends with etc for text fields

These are sort of linked. Please can images be imported in date taken order rather than alphabetical? My first import from my 5DSr had images in random order and since I used a serial number it had no logical correlation. It makes it difficult to group say HDR or pano sources without having to change...

Enable custom labelling for colour and star ratings. Labelling the red square “Red” is kind of useless. I’d like to label it something that fits my workflow, such as “Post to Web”. Same with the Star Ratings. Instead of **** labelled as “4”, I’d like to label it as “Client selects”. That way, I don’t...
On1 Photoraw provides a basic ability to search based on various criteria; however, their is no ability to save the search (other than creating smart albums). Can you please provide the ability to save search presets.
There are a lot of requests for adding the ability to delete in any module on this idea site. A lot refer to the X (reject) and having that mean deleting the image. I’d like to see a new icon between the stars, colour and heart/x icons. A trash can which would indicate the image...

In the Browse module, we have the ability to filter photos using the Filters pane (e.g., by date, by rating). I frequently find myself using the Advanced section of this pane and creating a set of conditions. For example, “Match Any Criteria” + “File Type=RAW” + “File Type=TIFF” and so on. The annoyance is that...

The “Recent” panel on the left-hand side of the browse module does not appear to register a RAW file on which considerable work is done. I spent half an hour working on an image today, opening it in layers and replacing the sky. I closed it and then began working on something else. When I...
I would love to be able to filter images by a Long or Short Edge resolution in the Browse Panel. While most cameras allow one to shoot RAW+JPEG with the JPEG at a lower resolution, I still tend to reduce the JPEG to something like 1000px on the long edge (And this is only because...

Lightroom has a function that adds file organization that is highly useful. It will map your photos onto a geographical GPS map with annotated geographical boundaries, towns, streets etc.  It is perfect for vacation and travelling. I use this in all cases when I photograph outdoors in different places. It is also useful to establish...

Hi, I would like to have the ability to set filters for photos without keywords Photos with no development settings Photos with no presets applied It would also be good to be able to combine this filters. I’m sure others would like this. I found these filters to be very useful when looking for photos...
Kindly add to the sort criteria for browse panel the following fields… ISO sensitivity Exposure time Aperture Focal length Thanks.
When culling photos I like the idea of being able to use a short cut to mark keepers or ones to throw away.  Once marked it would be nice to be able to sort by pick, like in LR.  If I have a large folder of photos, it is time consuming to go through them...
In Photo Via I find it crucial to filter by likes “not set”. When using the mobile client for initial sorting it’s very convenient that disliked photos are immediately hidden.

I think filters should be available in other panes and not only Browse. With this and ability to flag photos as rejected I could hide photos in develop. I do that often in Lightroom and delete files only when the project is finished, but in Photo RAW even I filter photos Browse they show again...

Would appreciate you’re adding “custom sort” in Albums in the Browser module, much like the custom sort in Lightroom Collections. This would allow a sequential naming of files on export that would be sorted for a slideshow in the order of your choosing.

I’d like to see better organization in Albums other then alphabetical. Topic headings would be a good idea. Move away from a flat file config. I made 4 albums using EXIF info to sort on 4 file types. Woked great, They were in alphabetical order. Then added an Album for Author Problem is is this...

Many photographers have multiple hard drives for image storage, and not all are connected to a computer at a given time (such as while out on the road). Software such as LR allow all images to be referenced/searched/viewed even when the original drive is not connected. In the OnOne browser, while I see it is...

Would be great to be able to have custom sorting of assets for a photo session by any selected EXIF data with the capability for metrics that would allow a user to examine trends in their photographic techniques. For instance – the ability to sort by focal length and then to get an automatically generated ...
