About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I would like to paint keywords on/off just like you can in Lightroom. Right now with a large folder I have to click each photo and then type the keywords, but with Lightroom you type you keywords and paint across photos that you apply the keyword to, scroll down and paint again. it’s much more...
Having the ability to create and choose specific and separate collections with their own associated keyword database is at the top of my Want List. Commercial work such as event, wedding, architecture, model portfolios, etc.; each require a much different set of keywords as casual (hobby) photography requires. When I added a second collection to...
In Lightroom, I can add synonyms to keywords that are, optionally, exported with the keyword they are associated with. For example, I could give Autumn the synonym Fall. I can work around this using both keywords independently or by putting such keywords into a hierarchy, but this isn’t ideal since I have to ensure both...

When I import keywords from Lightroom into Photo RAW 2019.5, I see things keywords not marked as “Include on Export” in brackets, for example [Season]. In Lightroom, these keywords are used to simply group the sub-keywords (such as Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) – the intention being that only the sub-keyword appears in an exported...
The new nested keyword hierarchy in 2019.5 release, along with cataloged folders, is fine and makes ON1 an effective DAM. After an intense use of them these days, there is in my opinion some improvements to carry out. Important features missing : 1) Once you have cataloged a parent folder (in my case a whole year...
If you search for an image by keyword, all the other keywords are still visible regardless of whether they are relevant to the selection. You end up with a long list of keywords with zero images. Even if you have keywords that are relevant, the number of hits is relevant only to that search. Suggest...
For the hobbyist,  we don’t all take pictures of the same thing, ie a photoshoot. I often go walking with my camera and will take photos of my dog, my partner, bugs, flowers, etc So it’s often not practical to keyword these situations on import. Perhaps hold a list of ten last used keywords. So...
First, I have to expand the filters pane and click on the little circle to activate it. I then have to expand Advanced, select Keyword and type the required keyword while not forgetting to click on Search Cataloged Folders. Phew! Just entering the keyword in Search searches everything containing what you typed, so typing sport...

when I have a folder open and I double click on a keyword in the keyword master list it searches all catalogued folders even those not connected. I then have to go to the left filters search panel and untick search catalogued folders box. the default should be to search the current folder and subfolders...
when you have many keywords its hard to find a specific one even in the keyword search. would be great to group keywords, for example all family members under one main keyword “family” when you then tag an image with any family member name the main header “family” is also added as a keyword. so...
When applying keywords to the pictures, I found frustrating that the “top frame”, where one can see the keyword(s) already applied, is disappearing when scrolling down the list to look for another keyword … One will certainly answer that the keywords already applied to a picture are indicated with a “filled button”, but as I...
Please consider changing the behavior of the search field. What I mean: when I begin typing in the search field, the keywords to choose from shrinks to fit my search criteria and I assign the keywords. Then I select the next picture(s) that I want to search for new keywords. Please change it so that...

Currently, in ON1 Photo Raw 2019, keywords that you add to a photo or photos are converted and saved to lower-case. For example, if you add ‘Joe Smith’, it will be saved as ‘joe smith’. This is counter to every other product I’ve used (Lightroom, Bridge, Apple Photos, etc.): they all take what the user...

I’m aware that in the current version RAW2019 it is possible to manually remove a keyword by right-clicking. However, it is not currently possible to select more than one at a time. Importing my lightroom catalog into On1 a whole bunch (More than 5000) irrelevant keywords have been added aswell. I even dicsided to remove...

2019 Beta forces keywords to lower case. I want to add keyword Amsterdam (upper case A) so I search for Amsterdam in the master kw list and it is only with a lower case. I would like the ability to use upper case.
This one can be a vice versa deal. When creating albums have the option of automatically creating a keyword with that name. The vice versa is when inputting a keyword have the option of automatically creating an album or nested album. Right now to get both requires doing each chore separately.

There are more than a dozen ideas on how to handle keywords in ON1 RAW.  Is it not obvious that we need a keyword manager. We need easy additions, display, search that is highly integrated into the Browse Module. Intelligent keyword suggestions would be the ultimate options in the manager function.

Hi Guy’s The Problem: I photograph wild Flora and Fauna, including insects and birds. My macro shoots create dozens of images of the same subject at specific locations but not the same date and time so I want to retain multiple images of the subject in an album or folder. I’m finding I’m continually have...

I sort my photos several ways, but the most important catalogues are done by location. However, when I want a photo of a particular subject that is found in many different shooting locations, I need to do a keyword search in all of the catalogued folders. And then I want to place that selection into...

It would be very useful to filter all those images that have NO keyword. So keywords can then be added.

As a product photographer the file name of my images is always the product code of the item I am shooting. I put the product code in as a keyword to the image I want to keep and then can disregard other images. When I export, I have the keyword as the file name. It...

It will be great we can add metadata, keywords etc to the photos directly on the mobile app.  I use the app for choosing my photo after a shooting.

This is a simple one, just add a keyboard shortcut to activate the add keyword field in the Browse module. It’s gonna take you like 2 seconds;-)

I’d like to see a way to establish user created categories of keywords and, with the click of a button a way to see those keywords organized within the categories. For instance, Architecture could be a user created category, as well as a keyword. However, other user created keywords could be organized within the Architecture...

Please make it possible to delete keywords. I have many images with different keywords. There is one keyword I would like to remove from all images. This is not possible (at least I don’t know how) as if I select all the images there are only the keywords displayed for the last clicked image, so...

It would be nice to have the option to create presets based on the exif data you add to a file. Things like Author, Copyright, Usage Terms etc. is usually the same and having the opportunity to create presets for this would have been nice. If I am not mistaken Lightroom have an option for...

I Lightroom’s Keyword List extensively. make possible to turn off / remove / cancel on1 keywords to stop the frustration of keywords coming back into LR as a single list instead of into the LR hierarchy — things get messy
