About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I shoot a lot of black and white film and prefer to scan those in at 16-bit greyscale. 16-bit for the tonal headroom and greyscale (as opposed to color) for the space savings since it’s black and white. Looks like ON1 only supports high bitrate color TIFFs which kinda disturbs my workflow a bit too...
Would like the ability to take two photos taken slightly apart of the same area and stitch them together with different colors for each image that can be filtered with colored glasses. Perfect for pictures taken in mountainous terrain (National Parks). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaglyph_3D

Because many of the better film scanners have scanner RAW capability that can be saved as DNG files it would be useful to be able to invert files from negative to positive for more effective processing.

ON1 Raw 2017-2018 does not process *.dng files with its advanced engine. The program reverts to the previous 10.x engine, and DNG users lose out; if you’ve archived past years using the Adobe DNG format (and continue to do so), instead of the supported proprietary formats, you don’t benefit from the speed and efficiency of...
hallo, i can’t re-edit a pure photoshop psd in ON1 browse. i have externally created a psd with photoshop with few layers : camera raw, sylver efex pro 2. i launch on1 and it displays the psd with a black and white thumbnail. super ! i right clic on psd and “send to photoshop with...
I love the View and play video addition in RAW 2018.1. It is really adding value to the workstream. My Sony and Panasonic camera’s produce m2ts video files. Right now these are not seen. Would be great to add these formats to the viewer.

I am working on the trial version. In my Canon Eos 1 ds it is possible to record an audio wav file for names of persons etc. In Lightroom is it integrated in the import option to get this files and record them. Is this feature also possible in On1 or is it coming soon?...
Please add Lens Correction profile data and RAW processing support for the Canon SX60 HS bridge camera.

it would be great if there was the possibility to display LAB color values too under the histogram as an alternative for RGB values.

I would REALLY like your program to be able to show .EPS files thumbnail – just like the amazing search program “Anything” by Voidtools.
Please give us LZW compression option for our 8 bit tiff exports. Those of us who shoot large numbers of photos and don’t want to deal with lossy jpeg compression rely heavily on LZW to reduce storage demands.

When creating Panos/HDRs in LR it will save the result as a DNG which still gives all the Advantages of a RAW-File. It would be great to have that Option in On1 too. Alternatively give users 2 Export Options: 1.DNG 2. TIFF/PSD with Layers allowing for adjustment in the layers module so that later fine...
I’d like the ability to turn my images into animated gif’s. Would be nice to make animated cards using my own images as the base image.

I really hope you support .TIFF-files with layers in the next time. Currently On1 Photo Raw can show them, but better no one try to open it in an editor. He will loose all his work (layers). It’s a pitty that the Mother of image files is cutted. Instead this just .PSD is supported fully....

Please support images in grey-scale. I have a ton of scanned B&W grey scale images which I have to convert to PNG (RGB) in IrfanView.

The soon-to-be-released Sony a7RIII is advertised as having a pixel shift function similar to what Pentax has. Only the Sony software can process it. It would be nice if ON1 handled it as well to reduce the use of multiple processors.

HEIF (High-Efficiency Image File Format) is a standard developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) for storage and sharing of images and image sequences. In June 2017, Apple announced support for HEIF in macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 which were released in September 2017.   http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7123047/

I frequently get asked to scan and restore old family photos. These are usually old black and white prints that I scan to monochrome tiff files. Having recently discovered how useful Perfect Erase is for photo restoration I find that ON1 seems to be the only tool that doesn’t support monochrome files. Can you please...

the ability to directly process FITS files from grey scale to RGB or convert grey scale TIFF files generated from FITS files into RBG
Similar to PS is it possible to have a convert to grayscale mode for “black only” printing ?

I know this is a far out request and yes I can move files from On 1 RAW to Photoshop if I want to edit in LAB space, but it would be great if in some future time you could add that support directly in One1 RAW, as it is such a powerful workspace to...

In the browser, I would like to see a thumbnail of ALL of my images. Now, any images with layers are displayed as blank white boxes. I want to be able to use browse to replace bridge. I absolutely will not use Lightroom because of the hassle with importing and converting and cataloging.

I own a Canon EOS M5 since 2 weeks. Besides an EOS 5D Mark II and a EOS 7D I am using the new camara for event-shooting. While Adobe supports the M5 within Lightroom the exposures appear in ON1 Photo RAW with a pink shadow in the browser. There is no way to edit the...

As a Fuji X-T2 & iMac user, and to speed development along, how about considering developing an option to switch to support Apple Core image Raw use, very akin to Affinity Photo. That software has the ability to utilise the camera Raw profiles already installed within the Mac software. A great idea if you ask...

For many of my photo shoots I need to keep production notes, model releases, etc.  I file these in the folders with the relevant sets of photos.  But Photo Raw, Lightroom and other photo browsers hide these files, so I have to go outside my photo apps and use the Finder to dig through the...

Lots of us layer vectors with rasters. It’d be awesome if I could handle that type of work within Photo Raw. AI, EPS, CDR.
