About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

Currently I can only export edited photos back to the folder they came from. I would like to be able to right click an image after editing and send it to a choice of other software to continue editing such as Lightroom or Photoshop.
I love the function of Lightroom that permits to, for example, to point a color and then click and drag down to decrease saturation (or hue, or luminance), and click and drag up to increase it. Fast and easy.

There is an interesting feature in the program “Lightzone” (http://lightzoneproject.org) which I like very much. It is the concept of “zones” based on the work of Ansel Adams. I never understood why nobody copied this idea. It is possible to do manipulation only to selected tonal values.
When you use a masking bug or vignette for local adjustments, it would be nice (like in Lightroom) if you had the option to see the changes without also seeing the mask, bug, or vignette lines. They are distracting when deciding how much adjusting to do.
I use LR on a daily basis is the studio. After a shoot I create an online album in the LR WEB module, for the customer to look into. Will that be possible with ON1 RAW in near future? I dó hope so. Together with a tethered shooting possibility this will make my Workflow complete.
Hello. I know in both ON1 Photo 10.5 and Photo RAW apps, the photos EXIF information can be viewed in different modules from the INFO tab at the top of the right pane. However, if a different view is chosen such as “Loupe, Nav, or Histogram”, this information is no longer visible. This makes it...

Please could you allow an option in the Export part of Photo Raw to permit the original raw  file name/number to be at the front of the new exported file name, and the date when the camera recorded the file to be after any special text. Yes, I’d like export in Photo Raw to be...

Hello, Would be nice to have a color border around pictures in the browse to match color of pick (red, blue…) it really help to pick a particular file by color on screen. LR has a thin color border, it needs to be more prominent.
Given that On1 Photo Raw has a 32-bit color space workflow, it would be great if I could load HDR formats from other HDR merging tools. Two formats that I’d like support for are OpenEXR and Radiance HDR. This would allow me to merge images using another tool and then import into On1 Photo Raw...

I would like to see in Preferences a choice to change all the colour label names. I think it would be great because when you add a colour filter the only reference it has is the colour name. With so many colours to choose from, you forget which colour relates to what. We all know the a...

Palettegear comes out from a kickstarter and its amazing to use in Lightroom and it would be so cool to use this hardware also in ON1 RAW   https://palettegear.com/

Lightroom has a great feature to identify sensor dust spots and heal them in a negative image. It’s very hard to see sensor dust spots in On1. This is usually one of the first workflow steps and is very important as subsequent editing (especially dynamic contract) can make remaining dust spots look really bad.

I would love to have the ability to sequence photos in an album and export those photos in sequence to a new folder. My projects require me to assemble photo books and photo videos. I am often choosing, editing, and sequencing material from five cameras (including some video). The process can be time-consuming. I find...

for browse to be really as fast as it can be (at least for handling my 2 to 3 TB of files in Bridge) there should be an option to exclude files (very large files, or layered PSB or TIFF files) from being handled within browse. Since I have many of such files in my...
Add functionality to Layers module – Presets and Filers like in Effects, Develop module. No jumping between, no waste a time, just simply click and preset on selected layer.

Can you guys please add a quick selection tool to extract parts of one picture and add it to another, or to mask parts of the photo without affecting the entire image?

Facial Recognition, similar to or better than Intelligent Facial Recognition in Adobe Lightroom.  With a large personal library of mostly friends and family captured over the last 23 years having the ability to quickly find faces in my photos is a must.  I am continually asked if I have that picture of “Bob” from 19xx. ...

Some user interface elements do not look ideal on high-resolution monitors. Can the UI to be tweaked/made more customisable, e.g. changing of menu and dialog box fonts and sizes. For example your Welcome Splash screen looks totally squashed on my 4k monitor.
When taking action on files in Browse mode, the screen refreshes to the top, rather than staying at the position you were at prior to taking the action. (Example: you scroll down through a long page of images, and move a group of images to a different folder. The screen goes back to the top...

Add support for the OpenEXR HDR format. This would make it easier to leverage multiple HDR tools with On1 Photo Raw.

Please redesign your application to be able to install on a drive other than C:. My C: drive is a 256GB solid state drive primarily for use by the operating system. My D: drive is a 2TB drive for applications and data. I cannot imagine that I am the only one with this configuration.

I’ve tried to get this idea back on On1’s list for consideration since it disappeared in Photo Suite 9.  Some of us want to resize to a different proportion (for frame fitting, or creative effect) than just the same as-shot aspect.  Without this in current versions, we’re forced to go back to either LR, or...

With Raw’s blending modes now being touted as one of the reasons to not rely on PS, why not set up a blend-if with Raw’s (Develop or Effects) function.

I’ve used On1 prods for about as long as On1 has existed, and have collected gazillions of presets (many from On1’s generous sharing).  But now, my preset panel is starting to look like my contact list – long and not necessary organized intuitively.  And, I see that there are others on the blog that share...

One of the downfalls of Lightroom is the ability to add Exif data to photos. There have been plenty of times whether it be scanned photos, cell phone pics, or even sometimes DSLR photos that are missing certain exif data fields. Lightroom doesn’t let you add these without downloading a separate plugin. Why can’t we...
Hi When creating a smart album, it would be great to make it possible to limit to a single folder (an indexed folder?). So that I can have a 5-star album for cats and another one for nature.

Adding a mac OS like capability for folder alias. This will allow a shortcut through folder hierarchy in browse.  Get me to my high level portfolio folder quickly.
There are keystrokes for all ratings (1-5, colours) but not a keystroke to remove colour label from rating. One has to do this manually. The shortcut of ` isn’t resetting it, either. This is cumbersome.
