Tethered Shooting

Some photographers, especially studio shooters, connect their cameras to their computers while they are shooting. The gives them instant download and preview of the photos as they take them. Some apps even let you control some of your cameras settings from them. If you recall we made the first tethered shooting app for the iPhone, DSLR Camera Remote years ago. It would also be cool to feature live video previews and full camera control, plus a iPhone/iPad app to go along with it. :)

Tethered shooting for table top shooting is real important If I could use my iPad instead of notebook would help

Most definitely want tethered as that now ties me to LR which I’d just as soon move away from.

I agree 100% with Tethered Shooting and I would really like to see “proper tethering” where it would have LiveView shooting, “click and focus” in LiveView, zoom and finally, some good support for Sony :)

I’m for this idea as Lightroom tethering is so slow of late and my Nikon 810 with its large files seems to take forever coming up on my new laptop…

yep, this is a logic option to have in one editor that wants to cover all fronts.

I’m totally over LR, and would make the jump to this in a heartbeat for proper tethering.

I agree with you. I support ON1 because I want to get rid of Lightroom and Photoshop.

Tethered shooting would be a great feature!
But it would be nice if you’ll support more than the major brands (e.g. Canon, Nikon, Sony)
I’ m working with Fuji (X-Pro2), but I could imagine that photographers using Olympus, Pentax might be glad too.

Tethered shooting would be very helpful, particularly if unlike LR, you could shoot a batch of photos rather than singly.

Just to have support for Sony tethering via cable without tedious workarounds (such as in LR) and with a liveview preview would be a huge plus for me. Currently have to use a workaround on LR or Capture One without liveview for Sony A7r. This would be a very attractive proposition for those looking to switch away from LR and Capture One.

I’d fancy it as well. Please make it available for the iPad and not only for desktops and notebooks…

and if you could develop it for the ipad, please do not rely on any cloud solution. A simple cable or wifi solution is fine to synchronise it with the desktop…

Can’t speak for anyone else, but I need a proper tethered solution that isnt going to be clumsy, or embarrassingly slow to use. I don’t want to have to go into plugin after plugin to do what I need to do. I want an all in one solution that is quick, easy, and competent. Please put this on the to-do list.

Tethered shooting is painfullly slow with the major alternate product, and part from the main brands (Canon, Sony) others aren’t really supported. I’d plonk down my money straight away if On1 Photo Raw offered tethering, regardless of all the other features

Whoops, I meant to say Nikon = I have no idea if Sont cameras are supported. I use Panasonic, and would love a decent tethered solution

    Hi,
    i need it for sure!
There is no studio shooting without tethering!
Clients and Art Director will see the result in time…

Please have a look at the solution in Capture One.
    This is nearly perfect!

Yes – this is a must if you want to go head to head with LR and Capture One.

    good news
i can do tether shooting with controlmynikon soft,… but i do that in lightroom in develop module
because we can directly fine tune white balance and shadows,… in few seconds and show an image to customer
close to final one while the original was sad…

I would love this option. I can’t see very well with the tiny screen on my Nikon D90. Being able to tether to my 10.1″ Android tablet would be optimal – it would also require an android version of ON1….
