DxO dop support

My current raw converter is DxO and all adjustments are saved in a “.dop” sidecar files. My interest is for On1 Raw to be able translate┬áthose sidecar files and display the already adjusted raw file. With lots of existing DxO adjusted files it would be nice not to have to re-do all of that work.

That would be very usefull indeed, but I don’t think it is possible, as DOP files contain specific settings for DxO Optics

Yes, if possible please allow DXO to function as a plugin to the new RAW program.

As others have pointed out, the dop files contain instructions specific to DxO OpticsPro. You can actually open a dop file in textedit or notepad and read these instructions.

While some of these instructions could possibly be directly ported to PhotoRaw, many of them will not and replicating the output from DxO would be really difficult to achieve. Not worth the effort unfortunately.

Better DxO integration would be nice until the RAW converter in Photo RAW matures (automatic lens correction, less of a tendency for over-saturation of some colors, better noise reduction, etc).

I tried to use the Photo RAW ‘Edit In…’ feature with DXO – sending the unedited out-of-camera DNG to DXO. However DXO was unable to open the DNG once Photo RAW embedded it’s metadata. DXO still refuses to open the DNG even after I restored the original version.

Even if the numeric data were correctly read in from the .dop file the fact that the underlying engine is different would mean that you would get different results. If there is a preview/thumbnail image assoicated with the .dop files, it may be useful to display that preview/thumbnail while browsing and allow opening of the “.dop” file by sending the files to DxO optics pro for editing/working, providing more transparent cataloging abilities.
