As a K-1 user this feature is something I’d like to use more often however the post processing of these images is currently restricted to the Pentax Digital Camera Utility (DCU) software. Unfortunately the pixel shift workflow in DCU can only export as TIFF or JPEG. Neither of these are preferable if exporting to Photo 10 or Photoshop.

The LR rendering of pixel shift images is of no use as it can’t work with the motion correction algorithms resulting in colourisation of, for example, water during long exposures. To add to this issue is the very lacklustre image created by LR meaning the current LR implimentation of pixel shift is not usable.

If Photo RAW can correctly post process pixel shift and export with a PSD file then the higher resolution potential of the pixel shift files can be better achieved.

Wonderful idea — I too would like to see the new On1 raw engine process pixel shift files with motion correction.

I strongly support the suggestion of incorporating pixel shift into On1 RAW. As a K1 user, I am disappointed with the Lightroom implementation, and so need to use Pentax’s DCU, which is a fairly basic (though dedicated) editor. Adding this capability (including motion correction) would allow me to use a consistent workflow for all images.

Pixel Shift, when PROPERLY processed, produces some truly phenomenal images, and completely disproportional to the sensor size. I presently have a K3-II, and intend to acquire a K-1 when budget permits. As another comment noted, the K-70 will have this feature as well, and Pentax is NOT alone in sensor shift imaging among current cameras. Look also at Olympus and their EM-5.

    Definite Plus 1

This would be a valuable capability for Pentax camera users, as a Pentax K-1 user I’d find it invaluable, and no doubt it would make ON1 RAW a got-to-have application for many Pentax users

    Absolutely!

I have started shooting with a K-1, almost exclusively in pixel-shift mode. Files are stunning.

The only software which can *currently* develop these raws correctly, is the SilkyPix-Digital Camera Utility 5. It is a *truly appalling* piece of software. Slow, clunky, ancient UI … just awful. (Did I say slow?)

If you add pixel-shift for Pentax, I guarantee that a large amount of the marooned Pentax pixel-shift users will come running to your door!!

NB, Lr does not cater to pixel-shift correctly. Will Adobe ever …. ???

I use the Pentax K3II and pixel shift is a tremendous feature that can only at this time be processed using Silky Pix. If ON1 Photo RAW is able to process pixelshift images, it would certainly be an advantage for both Pentax camera users and for On1.

I’d buy and use ON1 if it was able to process “Pixel Shift” RAW files from my Pentax K1 camera.

Also, if your version of Pixel Shift RAW converter could address the “motion artifacts” issue, I expect that once the word got out, virtually every Pentax camera user would purchase and download your ON1 software!

Adding PixelShift processing to your new raw processor would definitely help to make it stand out. You will help put out some amazing photos. I already pre-ordered but it would help your sales and status with other Pentax users.

Fantastic idea. The support for PixelShift would give ON1 another unique feature making it still more useful as it is:)

this would be a wonderful addition to the new software, Even though Pentax was the first, I don’t think they will be the last .. to use pixel shift

I use LR at school, and plan to buy it down the road, but if ON1 supports Pixel Shift in their program (and does it better than LR and pentax’s editor) I’d switch to the ON1 program.

I’d really like to see this in ON1 Photo RAW, too!
There is, literally, NO acceptable RAW processor out there with this feature.

Please add Pixel Shift support in Photo Raw 2017. PLEASE! Currently there is no program that really does a good job at this. Pentax Silky pics is a horrible app, Lightroom still doesn’t handle Pixelshift well at all. I hear Raw Therapee an open source software is working on supporting pixelshift.

If On1 could figure this out they would be heros, and if they could do it well, they would get the business of all Pentax shooters worldwide.

I’m guessing pretty much all future Pentax cameras will have Pixelshift, it is an amazing feature to have. Now we just need a program to process them to their full potential.

As a user of K1, it would be great with support for the Pentax Pixel Shift. Then I could have the workflow in ON1 without using SilkyPix, which I normaly don’t use.

Since 2016… Any hope we will see this feature in ON1. Was so hoping for 201, baut obviously no.

Another “YES” vote! I’d use pixel shift a lot more on my K-3ii if it was easier to process and get the great results it deserves. PLEASE put this capability into Photo RAW!

Pixel shift will also be a feature on the new Sony A7rIII so there are even more users than just the Pentax community that will be interested in this feature going forward.

As a K-70 user this would be a very nice feature to include.

This would be fantastic for product photography too! I still haven’t been able to figure out how Pentax’s DCU software works with Pixel Shift. Its UI is light years behind ON1 Photo Raw!
