About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

This is available in the current release.

I would like to be able to give my own meaningful name to local adjustments. I would like to be able to know what I’ve done there without necessity to play around with them. Same applies to filters – you can use them in unique creative way so why not to give an option to...

It would be great to have better options to organize presets when having plenty of them. I suggest the possibility to create named folders in the Presets section and move existing Preset folders into them. So one can create Preset Theme Collections on their own and won’t get lost in endless unsorted Preset Folder Lists.

Due to the absence of a history you have to use [Ctrl]+Z to step backwards. If you have to go back several steps, and accidentally go to far, there is no [Ctrl]+Y to re-do that step. If it was a complicated mask then this is a real pain. Please implement a [Ctrl]+Y as in Lightroom.

I used to be able to bring photos from Lightroom to On1 Photo Raw and add layers to act as texture enhancements.  Those new layers didn’t always fit properly and I was able to rotate and resize so that they matched the size of the photo.  I can’t do that now.  I think I have...

It’s often, that I develop a picture and set or modify my rating just after. It would be nice to get the rating panel also in the develop module. Currently I have to switch back to the browse module to do this task

One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

I sort my photos several ways, but the most important catalogues are done by location. However, when I want a photo of a particular subject that is found in many different shooting locations, I need to do a keyword search in all of the catalogued folders. And then I want to place that selection into...

My 36 Mb Raw files turn into 600Mb monsters after 3-4 filters in Effects. Unfortunately, there are still many reasons why I cannot abandon Lightroom just yet; there are too many features that LR does that cannot or cannot be done as well (yet) in Photo Raw. Can you at least add a “flatten layers”...

It would be useful to be able to click a button and collapse the entire filter stack on an edited photo. Even a keyboard shortcut such as Shift+C would be great. I’ve used that in other programs and love it. It’s a bit annoying to go into a photo that has been processed and have...

As the headline says. When looking at several copies of nearly identical pictures I’d just like to select and kill them, not have to toggle back to the Thumbnail view or tag as discards to delete later.

Please enable sequential numbering of photos. I take a LOT of wildlife and bird photos. Once I sort yo reject any that are out if focus or badly composed I will save the rest. I can batch save metadata (thank you!) but it seems that I have to number each file separately — e.g. red-tailed...

In Lightroom there is a handy tool where you can compare the picture while working on it with the original. In different -splitview- ways. It is THE way to see if you are done.

ON1 Raw needs to include a way to use a custom color profile in the Develop stage. We spend a lot of time, doing monitor calibration and printer calibration and not having a way to integrate that with a camera profile like the X-Rite Color Passport seems like a waste. I use this all the...
I do a lot of work with textures in Layers. It would be nice if the new layer would automatically become the selected layer rather than the previous layer remaining selected.

After a large shoot , I would like to be able  in develop and browse to be able to rate an image, and then being able to sync that rating across similar images. It would save so much time, in much the same way that we can sync settings.

I’d like to have the possibility to filter by version of a picture,e.g. find all pics named “filenameV3.ext” in the selected folder.

It’s a great feature to be able to see the same result of a processed photo on two different PCs when you just access the same file from a file server or send it together with the sidecar file to someone remote. However, this only works, if the two PCs have the textures installed and...

I am a new On1 user who has just switched from LR.  It’s taking a while but I’m learning.  I would like to enter metadata such as Author, email address, copyright data, etc., just one time and have it permanently entered.  Are you working on this?

In the effects panel when adding a texture, now you only can enlarge the texture, I would like to have the ability to make the texture smaller ,move and rotate so I can decide myself which part of the texture big or small  I want to use and where to add in my photo.

Adobe lightroom has a very intuitive and nice method to correct the horizon line (with a virtual spirit level). ON1 uses the ‘Transform’ method in Overall settings to do this correction. It works, but not smooth and out of the hand.

Like in Luminar, so that you can tone down or up the result of several effects grouped together, and mask them as a group.

It would be very interesting to be able to save our videos together with the photos in the same folder, and be able to visón them on On1. I’m not talking about editing, but at least I can see them. We will have all the files in the session together and located

The luminosity masking possibilities in effects and in local adjustments from on1 PR 2018 are great. Love to see these feature in the layers module as well. Also transforming and moving masks in layers would be nice, like flipping, rotating. In overall, more masking, aligning and transforming features is on my with list for the layers module.

I have more than ten thousands photos in the library because I am a portrait photo grapher. So the file names are important to me. For now, ON1 file naming function is very weak. To summerize, renaming files at least need below functions: 1, 2018 has version/virtual copy function, which is good. However, the file...

Currently there is a 25 image limit for panoramas. I know that 25 images are a lot, but on some panorama sets I can have 30+ to capture a high detail/resolution panorama. I usually use Kolor Autopano Pro for panoramas and it’s able to stitch 30+ images together. It would be nice if ON1 was...

HEIF (High-Efficiency Image File Format) is a standard developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) for storage and sharing of images and image sequences. In June 2017, Apple announced support for HEIF in macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 which were released in September 2017.   http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7123047/
Photo RAW 2017 and 2018 offer Adobe RGB as the higher color gamut workspace. While it is OK for what it is, I still prefer ProPhoto RGB, a more extensive color gamut workspace. It would be great if this was made available in PR 2018 as an option besides Adobe RGB. ProPhoto RGB has long...

We can change previous edits in develop, effects and such. However, any previous Perfect Eraser, Retouch Brush and Clone stamp edits cannot be undone without also resetting all edits. I suggest we have the ability to remove these edits. Maybe a right click context menu on the tool with an offer to remove all edits...
