About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

This is available in the current release.

I would like to be able to give my own meaningful name to local adjustments. I would like to be able to know what I’ve done there without necessity to play around with them. Same applies to filters – you can use them in unique creative way so why not to give an option to...

It would be great to have better options to organize presets when having plenty of them. I suggest the possibility to create named folders in the Presets section and move existing Preset folders into them. So one can create Preset Theme Collections on their own and won’t get lost in endless unsorted Preset Folder Lists.

Due to the absence of a history you have to use [Ctrl]+Z to step backwards. If you have to go back several steps, and accidentally go to far, there is no [Ctrl]+Y to re-do that step. If it was a complicated mask then this is a real pain. Please implement a [Ctrl]+Y as in Lightroom.

Leaving aside creating a pano, I normally use my Nikon D850 in max resolution to create my RAW images. With the size of my base layer in mind, like Photoshop, On1 creates its layer stack based on the background layer. When using Photoshop, whenever I can, I flatten the image in order to control the ...
I would like the ability to sync only 1 setting (or more, but not all module as it is now) from any module between all the photos

Please implement these missing tools & functionality: start a new blank layer, trim, increase canvas size, add a color fill layer. These were all available in PR 2018.

Currently ON1 Raw 2019 has a text tool which enables one to layer text onto images. It would be great if the text tool can accept EXIF variables. This way one can automatically layer EXIF data like date, ISO, aperture, speed, captions etc.

I used to be able to bring photos from Lightroom to On1 Photo Raw and add layers to act as texture enhancements.  Those new layers didn’t always fit properly and I was able to rotate and resize so that they matched the size of the photo.  I can’t do that now.  I think I have...

I really like the new text tool and I can see a lot of potential to simplify a big part of my workflow in the future. I would love to be able to print certain metadata (both EXIF and IPTC)  onto my images before I export them. For example, print the elevation/depth field onto my...

When evaluating images taken in a high speed burst I often crop the image  during development to see if the subtle differences that may make one image preferable to another. Many times a subtle changes in the eyes are not visible unless you are viewing the images side by side.  It would be nice to...

It would be great to use say the backspace key to remove a picture from an album. (I tend to instinctively do this but get a message warning me about sending image to the recycle bin). I can only seem to do it by right clicking and selecting the option from the contextual menu. Incidentally...

Hi Guy’s The Problem: I photograph wild Flora and Fauna, including insects and birds. My macro shoots create dozens of images of the same subject at specific locations but not the same date and time so I want to retain multiple images of the subject in an album or folder. I’m finding I’m continually have...

It’s often, that I develop a picture and set or modify my rating just after. It would be nice to get the rating panel also in the develop module. Currently I have to switch back to the browse module to do this task

When syncing image adjustments, It would be nice to have an option menu to select which adjustments to “Sync”, including “Cropping”. Just as “Sync Settings” in Lightroom.

I had a few hundred images from a recent trip that showed sensor spots, especially in >f11 images. The same spots in exactly the same places. If you have sensor spots in one image, you usually have them in the same place for most of the others from that shoot. I’d like to be able to...

One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

I sort my photos several ways, but the most important catalogues are done by location. However, when I want a photo of a particular subject that is found in many different shooting locations, I need to do a keyword search in all of the catalogued folders. And then I want to place that selection into...

My 36 Mb Raw files turn into 600Mb monsters after 3-4 filters in Effects. Unfortunately, there are still many reasons why I cannot abandon Lightroom just yet; there are too many features that LR does that cannot or cannot be done as well (yet) in Photo Raw. Can you at least add a “flatten layers”...

The ability to copy and paste local adjustments with masks intact and also straightening and cropping settings from image to image would be very helpful, if not essential, for processing a set of frames intended for time-lapse movies, or for stacking into star trail stacks in nightscape photography. It is a shame that the masks...

I have some interior photos with an outside view through a window. I’ve made 2 images, one for the inside and one for the outside. Besides the exposure difference I’ve used different white balances for the 2 images. I plan on processing them using layers so that I can mask out the window of the...

It would be useful to be able to click a button and collapse the entire filter stack on an edited photo. Even a keyboard shortcut such as Shift+C would be great. I’ve used that in other programs and love it. It’s a bit annoying to go into a photo that has been processed and have...

I very much would like an option to also paste and copy crop. There is already an option what to include in the process. Just add crop as one of the parameters to sync. If you don’t want to include cropping, just uncheck the box. I take o lot of pictures of birds in flight....

It was a function in Lightroom that you could view in a second monitor what your were viewing or editing and I would like to see it added to On 1 2018. I use 2 monitors and it is handy for numerous reasons, the ability to view magnified in a second monitor is an asset...

Currently you cannot change one or a few develop settings on multiple files at the same time, without overwriting all other develop settings too; whether you’re using a preset or a sync-action. Cpuld be very useful and timesaving if it was possible (for instance with a dialog where you can check which settings to sync).

As the headline says. When looking at several copies of nearly identical pictures I’d just like to select and kill them, not have to toggle back to the Thumbnail view or tag as discards to delete later.

Please enable sequential numbering of photos. I take a LOT of wildlife and bird photos. Once I sort yo reject any that are out if focus or badly composed I will save the rest. I can batch save metadata (thank you!) but it seems that I have to number each file separately — e.g. red-tailed...

In Lightroom there is a handy tool where you can compare the picture while working on it with the original. In different -splitview- ways. It is THE way to see if you are done.

ON1 Raw needs to include a way to use a custom color profile in the Develop stage. We spend a lot of time, doing monitor calibration and printer calibration and not having a way to integrate that with a camera profile like the X-Rite Color Passport seems like a waste. I use this all the...
I do a lot of work with textures in Layers. It would be nice if the new layer would automatically become the selected layer rather than the previous layer remaining selected.
