About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

Today I watched the advanced masking tutorial and acknowledged the option for creating a mask based on color range. I tried this on one of my pictures and could not really get it working right – the tool was selecting a wide range of pixels on the screen, making it useless for some cases. I...

I very much would like an option to also paste and copy crop. There is already an option what to include in the process. Just add crop as one of the parameters to sync. If you don’t want to include cropping, just uncheck the box. I take o lot of pictures of birds in flight....

When exporting multiple images I’d like to set a maximum height and width and keep the aspect ratio I’ve cropped the images to. So if I export to max size of 1400×1050 and the crop is actually 1:1 then it should end up 1050×1050.

In crop, I would like to have the opportunity to add and edit my own aspect ratios.

I find the crop tool a bit cumbersome sometimes, while I use it on the majority of my photos. Ideas for improvement: When you’ve made a crop and want to move the photo a little inside it, the moving is not smooth, but slow and a bit erratic. Can be pretty annoying. Also, if you...

Add print presets for paper type and size, rendering intent, output sharpening, and printer.

On1 Photo 10 included crop presets for every common print ratio and paper size.  And users could create custom crop ratios (important if cropping for different computer monitor and television ratios).  All this is gone from On1 Raw.  Please bring it back.  Thanks.

Hi, Why do photo apps, ON1 included, not recognise that photo paper makers now use the A system, i.e. A5, A4, A3. There are still many photographers who print their own photos. There is no crop for A4 on any photo app, i.e. 8.27 x 11.69 ins. I accept that ON1 is close to A4, with 8.5...

Perhaps you could provide print options that would allow you to move the print area around by dragging.  Therefore, one could use the 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of photo paper to print several 3″x5″, 4″x6″, etc.  Currently, the print function allows you to print in the middle of the sheet of paper.  This ability to...

ON1 Raw needs to have a Print Module, much like what Lightroom has. Printing now from On1 Raw is only basic and limits what you can do.

Please could you allow an option in the Export part of Photo Raw to permit the original raw  file name/number to be at the front of the new exported file name, and the date when the camera recorded the file to be after any special text. Yes, I’d like export in Photo Raw to be...

Lightroom has a great feature to identify sensor dust spots and heal them in a negative image. It’s very hard to see sensor dust spots in On1. This is usually one of the first workflow steps and is very important as subsequent editing (especially dynamic contract) can make remaining dust spots look really bad.

Please redesign your application to be able to install on a drive other than C:. My C: drive is a 256GB solid state drive primarily for use by the operating system. My D: drive is a 2TB drive for applications and data. I cannot imagine that I am the only one with this configuration.

One of the downfalls of Lightroom is the ability to add Exif data to photos. There have been plenty of times whether it be scanned photos, cell phone pics, or even sometimes DSLR photos that are missing certain exif data fields. Lightroom doesn’t let you add these without downloading a separate plugin. Why can’t we...

I wish you would copy as much of the Lightroom Export module as you can without infringing on Adobe. I find the Lightroom export module extremely quick, while still providing lots of option. Size of Photo DPI Color space Compression Adding a sequence number to a file name Sharpening on export And much more Since I...

I use Photomechanics as an extremely fast “ingest engine” and browser. When I ingest photos from my CD cards, I rename photos. Then I browse them, delete some, tag a few and give ratings to the best ones. I need to keep PM colors codes, stars, and “checks” (maybe called ticks?). I need to easily...

For my purposes, I’d really like to be able to remove camera and lens specific data when exporting files I intend to email / share. I’m sure others would like to be able to add entries, as well to the specific resized or exported versions they create. This could be just another drop-down, similar to...

It would be great if we had the ability to copy and paste only some of the settings rather than all of the settings from one photo to many.  For example, one photo might have white balance, contrast, dehaze and sharpening applied, but I may only want to apply white balance and sharpening on the...

I sometimes need to print image of odd sizes or even 5×7.  I buy Letter size paper and don’t want to use a whole sheet to print a 5×7; I want to print on half  and save the other half (or print two at a time).  In Phase1 Capture one, and Aperture, I was able...

A raw engine is great but without the flexibility to turn those photos into prints its a moot point. The ability to soft proof, use icc profiles and the ability to layout different size photos on a sheet or roll is paramount to the professional. Capture One lacks this and Lightroom is ok but a...

One of my favorite features of Lightroom is how incredibly simple it is to upload pictures to SmugMug. It would be great to have this functionality in ON1 Photo RAW, too.

Hi, it would be nice in ON1 Photo Raw to have the possibility of Resizing and/or Exporting a file in megabytes just like you can do it in Lightroom (maximum file size). There’s a place where you can send your pictures for a book print but the maximum size of the file must be 15...

It would be great if On1 RAW had the ability to handle softproofing — importing and applying color profiles for cameras, displays, and printers so that the color you see is the color you get on paper in your final prints. It’s a feature in Lightroom, Photoshop, and After Shot Pro, so hopefully it can...
