About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

Keen amateur. Done a few photo shoots for friends, webs, and companies. Every subject is fascinating in the right light. Early morning is probably my double favorite, alone, quiet, nature awakens, and the light is often magical.
We need a Frequency Separation feature that will use a sourced raw image to create aTone and a Color Layer using the technique of Frequency Separation.    This will allow the use of tools and filters such as Dynamic Contrast, Noise Reduction, or Color Editor to applied to either or both layers to achieve very...

When adjusting an image’s white point or black point, it would be nice to be able to hold down the alt (option key on Mac) and the whole image would go blank and tell you when certain parts of the image start to clip as you adjust the black slider down or the white slider...

It would be great if the clone stamp tool had the ability to always use the same source location rather than simply being offset from wherever I start my first brush stroke.  Let me select an anchor point and clone that same point for every brush stroke/clone action.  As it is, if I want to...

If I want to filter according to Lens, ON1 shows me a list of lenses that makes no sens to me, as it concludes lenses that I never used and don’t have. It would be much better, if the list of available lenses ONLY includes those that were actually used among the images of my...

At the moment I can only select one folder at a time and see the content. It would be a great help if I can select more than one folder with Ctrl + Click (Just as in Lightroom)

Can’t find this subject in the posts. I often use the transform tab and the Keystone functionality is nice. But after that the needed Scale slider is not at the top: brutal, not very precise, frequent waste of pixels… Why ON1 doesn’t offer an automatic crop feature along with geometric settings, just as in LR?...

I would like to see the Polarizing Filter as a separate new Filter in the Effects mode. This filter could incorporate the current Polarizing Filter along with some related sliders. As far as I can tell, the Polarizing Filter is now only available as a slider in the Photo Filter panel. To use the Polarizing...

Please implement a Flow adjustment for the brushes. I understand that opacity is a similar adjustment for a brush but is not the same as Flow. In simple terms the difference is with flow you don’t have to constantly keep clicking on the brush to make it build up  you just keep moving it back-and-forth...

I have a .gpx file with a series of timestamps and waypoints. I would love to be able to import this data and automatically update the metadata of any matching photos.

It would be helpful if we could select certain filters using <, >, =. For example, all images with a focal length > (greater than) 200. Today you must specify the exact focal length. I wanted to  evaluating images based on varying focal lengths, ISOs, aperatures, and shutter speeds.

I would find it very helpful if I could create a custom list of Filters settings for use when I’m in Browse, rather than having to re-create or remember filters that I’ve used for specific purposes in the past.  It would also be nice if I could assign or at least associate a custom filter...

In the color enhancer you can select 8 colors with a possible range. It would be nice if it was possible to pick-up a color in the picture and modify it just as if it was one of the 8 colors.

I’m frequently using the Phi-Square ratio for my photos (1:1,618 = 1:Φ). It would be great to have this available for cropping in addition to all the other ratios already available. If you are adding aspect ratios you could also add the different root rectangles. Root 1 (square) is already available. So root 2 through...

It can be difficult, frustrating and time consuming choosing complementary colors. split tones or any other reason when using the current color picker.  Implementing a color wheel with the current color picker would be an enhanced way of choosing colors and be of great help to those of us who have not had formal art...

I miss a lot the orange slider in the B&W conversion in Lightroom. It is very powerful, along with the red and the yellow, for portrait in black and white.

After watching a video on creating Glow brushes in LR (Blake Rudis) I tried to emulate the same look in ON1. I was easily able to replicate a brush that offered a very similar look using Local Adjustments, but there is no way to save the settings as a preset. NOTE: the goal is to...

I’m currently evaluating ON1 RAW 2019 in comparison to Capture One to use with Affinity Photo.  I notice that you only support Canon and Nikon for tethering.  I would love to have access to this feature but I’m a Panasonic Lumix user. Panasonic has a tethering software but it only works with their G9, GH5,...
I often use the Film Strip in Dev module (F), very handy. As I navigate in this strip, I want to see a larger and more comprehensive view of the photos by selecting the Grid (G). But ON1 get me back to the photo selected, not the area I was viewing in the strip. Not...
Hi, I saw a feature the other day where, for example, a radial mask local adjustment could be made and then a luminousity mask could be created which affected that mask only, this would apply to all types of mask, gradient etc… Kind regards Stuart

I often reset my clean install Windows 10.  One thing I hate is having to set all my settings on applications.  I would like to see On1 add the ability to export and import settings from a file.  So, as an example, if I got to Edit –> Preferences, I can make my settings changes...

When synching settings to batch process images I don’t want the lens correction to be copied as may have zoomed in between some photos with same lighting/exposures.

Current Behavior Go to Browse View. Enable filtering and enter some criteria. For example, only show “liked” photos. Navigate to a different folder. Poof! The filtering criteria you just entered is now cleared. Filtering remains enabled, but the criteria is removed. Proposed Behavior Go to Browse View. Enable filtering and enter some criteria. For example,...

The Filters/Search Panel already includes the ability to search for picture metadata. However, often it would be very useful to search for pictures with certain develop settings or that have no filters/presets applied specific filters/presets applied to the picture specific filters/presets not applied to the picture (e.g. no Sharpening Filter applied, or no Black &...

Having recently migrated from Capture One I was a bit surprised to find Sony cameras missing from the tethered camera(s) list. I shoot tethered a lot and have to go back to Capture One to shoot tethered however I really hope Sony cameras are added in an upcoming release of ON1.

There are some photos in which I would like to apply a vignette, usually the Big Softy, but in which the subject matter I want to highlight is more or less along a diagonal in the frame.  It would be nice to have a Rotation slider in the Vignette filter which would enable me to...
Remember filter settings by folder. Remember Browse view settings (always defaults to thumbnail view). It would be great, if I set it to filmstrip view that On1 remembered that at the next start. Make it possible to move the filmstrip to the left or right (great for ultra wide monitors)
