About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I would like to see the Polarizing Filter as a separate new Filter in the Effects mode. This filter could incorporate the current Polarizing Filter along with some related sliders. As far as I can tell, the Polarizing Filter is now only available as a slider in the Photo Filter panel. To use the Polarizing...

The Metadata Info being just on the tab takes up space, and the font is tiny and contrast horrible. To flip through photos really quickly, the overlay info needs to be clearer and over the photo; to compare in a hurry. Aperture and Lightroom both have this.

My complete library of images is in Capture One Pro but I generally roundtrip to Photoshop or On1 for content aware retouching and effects and the resulting version is returned back in Capture One beside the orginal. This still works perfectly with Photoshop but is no longer working with ON1.  From Capture One I go...

please make the show clipping have an option to always be checked on .It is so frustrating to always have to go and enable it ..It should be able to be always enabled from day to day if the user wants it enabled.

As it is possible to change the angle of a gradient mask, what is the utility of the 4 options (top bottom left right)? Useless complexity. And why not decide this angle while drawing the mask?… And BTW why a “strong vignette” along with a “vignette”, as we can adjust the feather afterwards?… See Lightroom,...

Hi, would be useful to be able to Right Click and eject a camera card from its drive from within the Browse Module. Without this I have to go to Finder and then eject from there, would just save an unnecessary few of steps (Launch Finder, scroll to drive, Eject)

The problem is how to calibrate the screen brightness for editing. This can be an issue if the screen brightens forces the apparent 18% gray lighter or darker that normal.  Some photographers shoot an 18% gray target and/or white card with each session so that they can accurately color balance their work in post-processing.  I...
I use the excellent file renaming feature quite a lot, and many collections of my photos end up containing individual pictures with names like DSC01385-hyde-park-spring-2018-01.arw and so on, with the last two digits increasing throughout the collection. I edit the Title in the IPTC header to have the same name in a different format, such...

I had a few hundred images from a recent trip that showed sensor spots, especially in >f11 images. The same spots in exactly the same places. If you have sensor spots in one image, you usually have them in the same place for most of the others from that shoot. I’d like to be able to...

In Browse could you add a feature to stack and/or mark photos from a series of pano images and/or HDR images with a special character or color or smething to immediately see it’s photos from a pano or it’s from a HDR? Like: Select six photos, click on Pano or HDR and – magic –...

Hi, a magnifying glass that you can switch on/off in in browse mode to be able to judge the sharpness I would really like. At the moment you always have to set the view to 100% first. This would not be necessary with a magnifying glass that can be used specifically. I think this would...

One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

Please add a moving slider for comparing the before and after edit. The current A/B comparison, the slider is unmovable and makes us move the image instead of the slider.

It would be cool if I could select 2-4 images, optionally select an area on one of the matching photos to test, and have On1 come back and tell me which of the 2-4 images is the sharpest in that area.  That would make it quicker to cull shoots where you’ve taken multiple shots of...

It would be a nice feature if there was a duplicate finder. This would allow us to free up space on our hard drives by finding exact duplicates. Reviewing them. Then deleting them. As I have copied photos and videos on my hard drive and renamed them I have found that there are many duplicates...

The new renaming tools in ON1 are very good. I would like to be able to save each renaming set as a preset so thar I could easily switch back and forth. I would also like the option to automatically begin each sequential renaming with the with the number 1.

It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...
We are now able to use the date taken as part of the renaming process. A great addition. I would like to be able to save the rename settings as a preset so that I can use the settings over again.
This lens has been out for over a year, but no profile exists for it yet.

My 36 Mb Raw files turn into 600Mb monsters after 3-4 filters in Effects. Unfortunately, there are still many reasons why I cannot abandon Lightroom just yet; there are too many features that LR does that cannot or cannot be done as well (yet) in Photo Raw. Can you at least add a “flatten layers”...

The ability to copy and paste local adjustments with masks intact and also straightening and cropping settings from image to image would be very helpful, if not essential, for processing a set of frames intended for time-lapse movies, or for stacking into star trail stacks in nightscape photography. It is a shame that the masks...

When taking images of birds, buildings clothing etc that have reocccuring patterns you are sometimes left with a moire pattern in your images, [ie like a rainbow colour in the feather pattern of birds.]  it would be great to have this removal feature in your program, as many other image editing programs do have this...
Hi, using the layer module I want to be able to create a canvas and lay, easily, side by side, layers with no gap. The move tool has no coordinates that i could enter to place a layer in the canvas or snapping function that I could engage and disengage. The ring that the move tool...

Already several suggestions on how to add more useful shortcuts. I really miss having a shortcut to return directly to Browse grid view – from ‘any’ module. «G» is the obvious choice.
I like to create Photo Collages. My most preferred program was (and still is) Google’s PICASA program – especially the ability to dynamically create photo collages. However, to use Picasa I need to export my pictures first, then create a collage and get it back to ON1. My wish would be to have such functionality...

As well as others already suggested, I would like to see single curve adjustments with the ability to limit the curve effects to certain layer options like luminance or color. Beside the fact, the added points are not deletable (which is rather suboptimal), I would like to enter certain values numerically. To have better and...

Most of mirrorless ownser use manual lenses (e.g. Samyang/Rokinon), but they are not supported in ON1 2018. I propose to include such lens profiles and improve manual correction with perspective correction. Good work
Remember the source folder used during the last import session. Usually, the origin of photos does not change too much between sessions.

It would be very useful to filter all those images that have NO keyword. So keywords can then be added.
Quick export and the full export methods afford numerous options, many I don’t need every time. Aperture allowed drag and drop to the desktop affording an easy way to make the photograph accessible for an email attachment, facebook post etc. Bypassing all the selections…that’s the point of this idea.
