About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

The import to folders arrangements are quite limited. My preferred folder structure is YYYYMMDD which is taken from the Shot date in the Exif. It appears that I can only import images into a DD folder within a MM folder within a YYYY folder. Free viewer Faststone does just this, and also allows user control...

The file naming options in import are rather limited. Could you extend the date option to include time and then a suffix for those instances where I manage to take two photos in the same second? e.g YYYYMMDD-HHMMSSnnn Thanks, JH

I think that the actual import module is poor. I can live with the renaming file section but the create folder section is poor. Here is suggestion: – I want the imported photo be cataloged (stored in a new folder) by date shot first, a sequence number and add a name to the folder (example:...

The way import is now, the folder structure is way to limited. Add functionality to let users create folder structures based on metadata like it is in Lightroom, with no limitations… I for  one can not use On1 import because of this. I need a folder structure that like “/YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD/” Others may need a subfolder...

As part of Browse, I would like to have a “Bulk Rename” functionality so that you can select some/all of the photos in a folder/subfolder and have the files renamed using both freeform text and photo metadata information. Examples of metadata that could be used for the naming EXIF: Camera EXIF: Date IPTC: Title IPTC:...

Finding incomplete meta data should be easier. At minium: Filtering by “empty” fields (ie: where no Keywords, City, etc.. are set). More fields in Advanced to filter (ie: IPTC Sublocation, City, State, Country, etc…).

ON1 Raw 2017-2018 does not process *.dng files with its advanced engine. The program reverts to the previous 10.x engine, and DNG users lose out; if you’ve archived past years using the Adobe DNG format (and continue to do so), instead of the supported proprietary formats, you don’t benefit from the speed and efficiency of...

On he Import organize menu it has the Month (YYYY/MM) and Day option (YYY/MM/DD) can Year be added such as YYYY/Specific Info. For example I put all my folders under a YYYY folder and then each subfolder contains the folder name of “YYYYMMDD EventName TypeOfEvent TypeofShoot Location” EventName can be a place or person, TypeOfEvent...

When creating Panos/HDRs in LR it will save the result as a DNG which still gives all the Advantages of a RAW-File. It would be great to have that Option in On1 too. Alternatively give users 2 Export Options: 1.DNG 2. TIFF/PSD with Layers allowing for adjustment in the layers module so that later fine...

While many editors allow for metadata editing (i.e. EXIF GPS location, keywords and IPTC descriptions), they do not save that data to the file, unless exported as a processed format. A headache when transferring RAW files from one editor to another. Functionality to save edited metadata should be included. Aside from editing metadata, data should be...
