About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

This may be a bit too far outside the container, but… How about a Raw processor that can capture luminosity ranges from different exposures of the same shot, eliminating the need for HDR or other digital layer blending? Imagine specifying 3 luminosity ranges and then selecting the RAW exposure from which that luminosity information would...

Editing of a 360° image that had been either pre-stitched or shot with a 360 camera in the same native format as they are viewed as opposed to a flat file.   Current workflow which is not very efficient is something like this: -import raw images and do basic adjustments to all images at import...

When using a Windows 10 2-in-1 device the user will frequently change between laptop mode and tablet mode. Touch friendly sliders (and other controls) would be very welcome and useful.

I would like to see the the ability to add exposure compensation to a single frame to enable HDR from a single image, rather than having to export the file multiple times. Just a selection to add eV steps then export to an external HDR app (or native one)

An option which applies skin smoothing and shine reduction automatically to selected images/images within a project/individual images. Essentially, this will automate this as much as possible (using face detection), with an option to show the masked area for which the effect has been applied for fine tuning if required (using brushes).
The ability to store photos on a shared drive and have multiple users editing different photos at the same time. It would be nice if the editor locked the image being worked on so you don’t have colliding edits.

Having support for two monitors or dual displays will allow me to continue to use my workflow. It makes for a wonderful editing workflow It has been available in both Lightroom and Photoshop for a very long time. This will mean that i can use on1 raw as my main editing program NOTE: We are working...

One challenge for the digital photographer is to keep the number of images at a reasonable amount. Therefor it’s essential to compare, rate and mark similar images of one shooting to keep only the best ones and delete the rest. Lightroom comes with two perfect tools to do this: the Group view (‘N’-shortcut) to reduce...

Lightroom can only open 1 catalog and this is really annoying. For example exporting all my images from a wedding takes some time. During the export i cannot simply open a 2nd catalog (from another wedding) and start postprocessing those images already

Highlight and shadow warning levels are a must, to see what is blownout on underexposed in the image. But the ablity for the user to define the values of the warning is much better than hardset to 0 and 255. C1 has this but LR does not. Also why add a 3rd warning color for...
If user likes to shoot similarly lit (but differently looking) scenes, e.g. buildings against the bright sky and then applies certain tonal adjustments it would be good if software could make other similar scenes look similarly (e.g., buildings and sky have similar luminance values irregardless of initial exposure; the software adjusts exposure and tonal curves...

Eg. Attending an air show, multiple shots were taken from a distance of parachutists landing. This would make for a fun gif.  Manually cropping each picture is tedious.  The ability to “copy/paste” a crop across a number of images would be a time-saver.

Much like the latest release of ACR and lightroom, we now have the ability to stitch images into a panorama, and then save and edit that panorama as one DNG file. Would love to see this implemented into Photo Raw.

Look at the leading vfx softwares! for example foundry Nuke or sidefx houdini. every step you make is reflected in a node based tree which makes it easier to undo steps change things upstream and so on. easy spline masking could be implemented and so on.

Virtual copies in Lr are great but you end up with duplicate thumbnails in your library. Instead of Virtual Copies, you could allow for, say, “multiple recipes” instead. A recipe would contain all of the adjustments you made to a photo and you could create more than one recipe for each photo. The library would then only...

I think it would be helpful to have multi exposure processing of various types handled by On1 Raw since many of us are constantly using HDR and multi focus images in other apps.

I’ll be happy with easy ability to copy & paste adjustments which, to myself, is the biggest plus with Capture One.

Not knowing what is in Raw yet; I do a lot of panoramas and really need this a Raw app.
One feature in Lightroom that has been a savior for me is smart previews and being able to have an offsite color corrector via dropbox’s folder structure. Is this a feature (maybe done a bit differently) in On1 Photo RAW? Thanks! Brant P.S. When I submitted this via the site the writing is in white...

Some photographers, especially studio shooters, connect their cameras to their computers while they are shooting. The gives them instant download and preview of the photos as they take them. Some apps even let you control some of your cameras settings from them. If you recall we made the first tethered shooting app for the iPhone,...
