About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

“Enable Filters” shouldn’t even be an option, because it should be enabled all the time. There is zero benefit for disabling filters, since it’s not filtering out anything unless you also choose a filter condition. Thank you.

I was just wondering …other than renaming each version of photos created with different presets is there a way to easily determine upon reviewing images later which presets have been applied. Maybe I am missing something. I know that you can look at the thumbnails when applying to get an idea of what the image...

I would like to be able to undock filters from the panel so I can enlarge them such as the curves panel and panels when I’m using a filter so I don’t have to scroll up and down so much.
First of all. ON1 has an incredible number of good features. Impressive. With my first idea I want to address the wokflow. In every corner there are icons and tabs, or sliders. I am looking again and again in all 4 directions. I wish to bring the palettes together more. That means to merge functions...

The bright Windows File menu area at the top of the software is very distracting in an otherwise dark user interface. A dark menu would be great!
Sometimes all I want to do is copy & paste one filter with certain settings to several photos without using presets and without overwriting the present filter stack in each image.
In Effects Module, I have a photo with multiple filters. I want to reorder the filters in the stack. I like to use Solo Mode so the filters only show the name of the filter. When I click (and hold) on a filter to move it in the stack, it automatically expands and pushes the...
At present it is always Blues, Aachen, Campari, Timeless and Branagh. I would love to be able to have my 5 favorites displayed instead of having to search through “More” or create a preset.
The Browse module is top right on the screen, but the browse options are bottom left. Massive pain on a 27inch screen. Could the browse options move to the top of the screen (similar way in which the gradient options appear when the gradient tool is selected).

Sometimes it is handy to change saturation depending on luminosity.
When doing work in curves (either in Develop or in Tone Enhancer in effects) it would help a lot to be able to do the following: Remove a point from the curve Reset one curve only (i.e. remove all points) For Tone Enhancer additionally: reset the whole Curves section, without resetting all the filter settings

The problem is how to calibrate the screen brightness for editing. This can be an issue if the screen brightens forces the apparent 18% gray lighter or darker that normal.  Some photographers shoot an 18% gray target and/or white card with each session so that they can accurately color balance their work in post-processing.  I...
Click the soft proofing icon and the border around the photo turns white. I guess it is suppose to simulate paper. But on a 27 inch screen the white glare makes it difficult to see the subtle difference between before and after. I can get around it by expanding the image to 100% but why?...
I prefer the Filmstrip View and would like to be able to set a preference so that the application defaults to this view and stays with it when moving between browse and develop.  (The application should support selecting a default view and sticking with it.)

The histogram in On1 Photo Raw does not have the left and right side “walls” clearly indicated.  The histogram box blends into the rest of the right panel making it impossible to see if the levels are actually at the left or right walls without turning on clipping warnings.  Compare to Lightroom Classic CC histogram,...
When large files are processed that require saving as PSB, this warning pops up midway and interrupts the saving process. It is certainly useful when it happens randomly, to make sure all is understood. But when large PSB files are the standard workflow, having this interruption can become bothersome. It would be nice to have...

Having used the tethered shooting mode this weekend, I would like to make two recommendations: using a colored button for the “Fire” command.  When going back and forth between subject, camera, and software, a colored button stand out and be easier to find quickly to get the next shot – maybe red or a red...

It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...
I would like to be able to hide tabs in the Browse panel – not just close the pane. So – two levels – show/hide and open/close (=todays show/hide). Applicable to all the panes. And separate Cataloged folders, Local drives and Cloud storage to individual tabs.
Now the albums are sorted alphabeticly and mixed. Better to have Smart albums on top, Albums in the bottom (or the other way around). Maybe make better (=bigger) symbols to tell them apart. And hierarcy with folders – all my travel-albums in one folder, animal-albums in another…
Could the app be made to retain the workspace preferences e.g. If I collapse the nav panel to maximise screenspace it’s expanded again next time I open the plugin at the moment.
Can we have an option to turn off the splash screen when using the Photoshop plugin? I edit lots of images individually every day and it gets a bit repetitive seeing it every time. I appreciate it won’t make the plug-in load faster (although that would be nice too :-).

Can U please move the “add filter” in EFFECTS on to a docked sidebar so it is always visible? Or have a keyboard shortcut? It is annoying when I have an effects stack (often 15+) and having to scroll up to it every single time I want to add another effect. I know I could...

Quiet recently I began to work with equiluminance in my photos. The easiest way to do this is by observing the L-channel in a Lab readout. Unfortunately On1 PR does not support this. It would be great if a user has the opportunity to switch between RGB and Lab readouts under the histogram.
I am a photoshop user wanting to switch to another similar program. Since I use it to scrapbook along with processing my photos, rulers and guides are a must.

It would be great if you can implement a similar solution. Retouching would be far more easier when I can see the actual effect or mask when hovering over the image. It would be great if this feature is always active like in Affinity Photo or switchable with e.g. ‘P’. Hover over an area press...

hallo, is it possible, like Lightroom, to reset an edit slider by double clicking on its slider knob or on its slider bar. it is really tedious to move mouse on slider name to double click on it to rest it best regards marc
I use the Color functions all the time, and it’s time confusing to have to click “Show More” then “Color” then scroll down. I’d like to be able to indicate which controls show up in the default view, and to rearrange them in the pane.
I often have a series of 20-30 shots of a bird in flight, for instance, and among other things, I’m looking for the sharpest focus. It would be nice to be able to freeze zoom levels across a series of images (or lock zoom until you turn it off) in Browse so that you can...
