About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

There should be a way to duplicate an adjustment layer

Need a way to turn off the “Tool Tips” in 2019.5.1?  Seems unnecessary after a while, and adds to desktop clutter.  The mouse-over activation is good, but I was looking for a setting that would toggle the entire set “on” and “off”.

Currently it is only possible to see the RGB- values when the histogram is shown in the photo information pane. I find this very inconvenient especially when I want to set the white balance with the color picker and I try to find a point using the Nav option. It would be way easier to...

With Ctrl I can add additional photos to my selection in the Grid view, with Shift I can select a Range. Unfortunately the combination of these two does not work as I am used to from other Programs (Lightroom) or simple file browsers (Windows Explorer). For exemple I cannot select a First range of pictures...
Hi, As we copy paste photo settings, very frequently for me, they is no sign that the Copy is effective, so as we paste (Cmd-Shift-V) there is often no result… Why? Because the soft is too slow to copy settings of a picture which is not totally loaded. And we can’t say if the command...

Can’t find this subject in the posts. I often use the transform tab and the Keystone functionality is nice. But after that the needed Scale slider is not at the top: brutal, not very precise, frequent waste of pixels… Why ON1 doesn’t offer an automatic crop feature along with geometric settings, just as in LR?...

It would be nice to have opacity support for all presets. Let’s say you choose a preset that you like but the look is too strong. A slider to reduce its strength would be nice too have. Right now the only easy way to do this is by duplication the layer, using the preset on...
Dear ON1, there is one feature that would make ON1 Photo RAW much more convenient in use, especially for users accustomed with Lightroom. In Lightroom I just hover the mouse cursor over the slider, which value I want to change and then simply use up/down arrows to edit the value. Furthermore each slider’s step is...
ON1 has this nice feature of Folder Preview we can set by choosing a photo in this folder. OK. But when the folder contains several sub-folders, it is always the folder preview of the first sub-folder shown as general folder preview. Which can be irrelevant. It would be fine and easy to make a right...

I modify the Title, Keywords and Description/Caption of every image. In ON1, the Title field is buried at the bottom of the IPTC data. It would be nice if it was up with the rest of the basic Metadata at the top.

It would be a great time saver if the user did not have to explicitly turn on the Filters pane before being able to select the filter criteria. Clicking on a filter criteria such as a color tag or star rating should automatically turn on the Filters option with a single click.

When i am using the detail option then i am mising the fine tuning options via treshold like it is implemented in LR. Sometimes the jump from 0 to 1 is to strong. This option should be much more sensitive when selecting the what should be sharp and what should not be that sharp (like...

When working through a quantity of photographs I tend to use Filters (often using the full screen layout for a quick preview of the options) rather than Presets, yet every time I move on to the next photo the application defaults to Presets. To have the selection (Preview or Filters) remain from one to the...

Like the results of cut outs in Photo Raw!  But there are a few user interface items that could be (easily) improved: Paint in/Paint out selection: it would be easier to have setable buttons to click than to ve to click a drop down ox and then select the item. I have only used Photo...

Just upgraded to Photo Raw 2019. Very nice improvement but there is one annoying issues that remains. Why do border/filters have to be in two places? On the left under filters and again, but not duplicated on the right under filters? Those on the left are so much more user friendly due to the nice...
First, I have to expand the filters pane and click on the little circle to activate it. I then have to expand Advanced, select Keyword and type the required keyword while not forgetting to click on Search Cataloged Folders. Phew! Just entering the keyword in Search searches everything containing what you typed, so typing sport...
Hi, I have been an avid user of On1 PR since the early days and have seen it grow into a huge program with excellent capabilities over and above what Is available on other programs on the market. And here’s my issue. On1 seem to have tried to pack so much into the program that,...

The Metadata Info being just on the tab takes up space, and the font is tiny and contrast horrible. To flip through photos really quickly, the overlay info needs to be clearer and over the photo; to compare in a hurry. Aperture and Lightroom both have this.
On1’s masking tools are amazing, especially since v.2019.2 which is much more stable. BUT… Effects : why is the Perfect Brush tool still on the right hand-side? It should be on the left hand-side, along with the brush the gradient and the AI mask. Local Adjustment : much more annoying! The Brush (shortcut: B) become...

being able to view two folders/albums at a time in a split screen browser view, could then easily move files from one to another , great for building a “favourite” album with images from many different folders. you would then be able to constantly view the new album while opening new folders to find new...

It would be great if I could see which presets I used on a picture in previous editing sessions. An intuitive way to implement this option would be via the right click menu on the picture. Generally the performance on my top spec MacBook Pro2018 is mediocre. In Capture One if I click through the pictures...
Solo mode is nice. But if disabled to see more than one effect, scrolling the Effects pan should keep the upper part locked and visible: Layers, Modules buttons, Opacity…

please make the show clipping have an option to always be checked on .It is so frustrating to always have to go and enable it ..It should be able to be always enabled from day to day if the user wants it enabled.

The camera icon (just below the desktop icon) could be made more useful by allowing the user to assign their own preferred folder in preferences. For example, although I never use my user/pictures folder I do very frequently access another folder on an external drive. Although ‘favourite/frequent’ folders can be created in the folders panel...

Certain sliders get adjusted for most photos I take e.g. Exposure, Whites, Blacks, structure. Rather than mouse-click on slider and drag to left or right I’d love to click once say on the Numerical input box on rhs of slider bar and use Apple Magic mouse scroll finger gesture to increase/decrease values. I know I...

I often use a 15 in MacBook Pro for editing my images which means I have limited screen space. When in the Edit Module I find I am continually scrolling when there are a lot of filters open. It would be nice to have a single filter ‘Open option’. As an example with Develop Tab...

Show clipping if selected in the presets should always be on unless you switch it off. Currently when switching photos or moduls clipping switches off
Remember filter settings by folder. Remember Browse view settings (always defaults to thumbnail view). It would be great, if I set it to filmstrip view that On1 remembered that at the next start. Make it possible to move the filmstrip to the left or right (great for ultra wide monitors)
Add strength or intensity (maybe opacity) slider for each option of the portrait areas (skin, eyes, lips, teeth).  Let each face attribute have its own level of control rather than as a singe “Portrait” control.
