About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

In both panorama and HDR merge functions, it would be very useful to be able to enlarge the preview to be able to check the results in detail before saving the processed image.

You can use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out, but I dont believe you can hold the mouse wheel button down and then use that to shift around an image

When I open On1 it doesn’t remember what photo I was working on. It would be nice to have it open to where I was when the application closed.

To be able to crop by mouse would seriously speed up the workflow.  Thanks for considering.

I would like to be able to use the  left arrow to move along the images in the Filmstrip mode while in develop the way I can while in Browse. Ir is a waste of time and of the batteries in my Magic Mouse to have to click on each image on my mac

Make the option to show clipping in the view column Permanent. I have to keep turning it on every time I go into develop mode. This is true whether it is the first time, or if I had to go back to browse. Both Lightroom and Capture one have this feature that I turn on...

I would find it most useful and would improve my workflow if I was able to see previews of textures within a given category as we are able to do with presets.

I would like an option/switch that would allow me to increase the size/view of the pane’s with the sliders/etc in the panels on the left and right side of the screen when I move the cursor over them. They are very difficult for me to see (even with my 27″ iMac screen) and allowing me...

Like in Luminar, so that you can tone down or up the result of several effects grouped together, and mask them as a group.

I understand the place of Curves in the Tone enhancer filter, but: apart from tone, you can influence color and colortemperature with it, and color grade in a good way too it is rather cumbersome to have to scroll down inside the Tone enhancer filter and open the curves tool with the chevron before you...

Right now a double click in browse opens the detail view of the photo. I think it would be better to have a preference for a double click action. Detail view Open in develop Open in Effects Open in layers I rarely care about detail view but I always open/edit photos. Having a preference saves...

There are times when I have a horizontal image and I would like to crop it to a vertical of the same ratio. Of course the image would be smaller. With the file size of most of my cameras and the ability to resize in your software that would not normally be a problem.  ...

Are you planning no adding the capability to swap the panels position? This is very important for all you left-handed customers that are using any kind of tablet (surface) or Wacom-like products that display the image. While retouching an image, when you reach the sliders panels your arm gets over the photo, so you cannot...

For Files/Extras in Layers, please consider making this a list of the folders that can be opened by selecting a right arrow on the right and when clicked, this would expand the presents to be viewed.  This would enable multiple folders to be opened up at the same time and save a lot of time. With...

Right now when cropping, it appears that the system uses a rule of thirds markers only.  I’d like to be able to adjust that so i can see thirds, quarters, etc.   In short, I am making panels (tiles) but to keep going back and forth with trial and error to resize, tile is a...

It would be great if there was a shortcut to go from one moodule to another module (like from browse to develop).  Maybe there is such a thing, but I can’t find it anywhere on line.

Currently to exit Layers and retain any edits requires a click on Save and a click on Close, after which one is left in Layers with no layers present and only Browse to navigate to. Add an additional button – Save and Close – to the Layers panel that does just what it says and ...

After the update to beta2 2018, the tone and color setting have a slider for midtones, what I find a great addition. Now I would love to have the same possibility  in local adjustments. Adding the other sliders would even be better.

This feature would make it visually easier, and more efficient to quickly culling throw many pictures. The difference compared to when you filter out “Dislike” is that you can still see them in the filmstrip and therefore re-evaluate them given similar photos taken later/earlier in the same batch of photos. In my workflow, I normally...

Please could you add the option to ‘View Clipping’ and a proper ‘Histogram’, to take some of the guess work out of processing a HDR in Photo Raw 2018?  i.e.  before exporting the HDR to develop and effects.

I am enjoying using Photo Raw 2018, but as a mouse user, I find the recent UI changes to be rather cumbersom and slow.  Please could you bring back the chevrons, (from Browse Photo Raw 2017), which we used to click on to increase the screen size or to bring up useful menus. The new,...

when you select masking bug , it is always linear top selected in my practice , it is more frequent to linear bottom  for the sky by exemple, thus a solution to memorise the last selection or linear bottom selected first

Either remember the last filter used or move “Tone & Color” to the bottom of the stack so this is the filter that opens when opening the Develop module. I hardly ever change anything in the Lens Correction filter (if not adding to the standard filters) , but this is always the active filter in...

Add an apply and save button, the same as you had in On1 10. It would save the hassle of going through export every time, and also allow for images to be automatically saved as Jpeg. Much easier for those of us who use On1 as a standalone product.

We should be able to get a quick/brief “View Clipping” as an option in Browse. As of now, we can use “Show Clipping (Alt-J) when in Develop. This is based on the exposure settings, but it’s not possible to see if a picture has burnt out highlights when we are in the Browse module. Very...

Color code the Tone, Color and Special Effects filters in the Effects menu. Make it easier for the less familiar users  to get acquainted with the three subsets of filters. Your video by Matt K. gave a great “Get Started” with the relative use of the three categories of filters. I had to go back...
