About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I would expect crop to to resize all sides when holding option (mac) and dragging from a corner or side. Currently cropping to the middle, for example,  takes 2 separate clicks / drags to resize.
I reopen pictures to try new settings. A lot of times I fiddle with the sliders and don’t like the results and would like to reset the file to the opening state. It would be nice to have a single button reset to the opening state. I don’t want to have to create a new...
I had a few hundred images from a recent trip that showed sensor spots, especially in >f11 images. The same spots in exactly the same places. If you have sensor spots in one image, you usually have them in the same place for most of the others from that shoot. I’d like to be able to...
Many people take photos simultaneously in JPG and RAW. This is particularly the case with FUJI, with its film simulations. It could also be interesting to find effects made with other software. The command would analyze the JPG photo, and find all the development parameters to apply to the RAW file, to get as close...

Hi, a magnifying glass that you can switch on/off in in browse mode to be able to judge the sharpness I would really like. At the moment you always have to set the view to 100% first. This would not be necessary with a magnifying glass that can be used specifically. I think this would...
One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

i’d like to be able to convert my photos into watercolour effect images, or oil effect, some kind of painterly feel to them.

Please add a moving slider for comparing the before and after edit. The current A/B comparison, the slider is unmovable and makes us move the image instead of the slider.

It would be cool if I could select 2-4 images, optionally select an area on one of the matching photos to test, and have On1 come back and tell me which of the 2-4 images is the sharpest in that area.  That would make it quicker to cull shoots where you’ve taken multiple shots of...

It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...

When taking images of birds, buildings clothing etc that have reocccuring patterns you are sometimes left with a moire pattern in your images, [ie like a rainbow colour in the feather pattern of birds.]  it would be great to have this removal feature in your program, as many other image editing programs do have this...
Hi, using the layer module I want to be able to create a canvas and lay, easily, side by side, layers with no gap. The move tool has no coordinates that i could enter to place a layer in the canvas or snapping function that I could engage and disengage. The ring that the move tool...

As well as others already suggested, I would like to see single curve adjustments with the ability to limit the curve effects to certain layer options like luminance or color. Beside the fact, the added points are not deletable (which is rather suboptimal), I would like to enter certain values numerically. To have better and...

I have some interior photos with an outside view through a window. I’ve made 2 images, one for the inside and one for the outside. Besides the exposure difference I’ve used different white balances for the 2 images. I plan on processing them using layers so that I can mask out the window of the...

When aligning a photo – rotating, transforming – it is often tricky to line things up exactly how you want them. If you get a grid presented on screen, sometimes nothing lines up exactly with the grid lines. I was just playing with an open source photo editor (digiKam) and they have a neat feature....

I use the Content Aware Tool in Photoshop Elements a lot and find the blending results in most cases good. Can On 1 develop this tool? The clone tool is not the same.

Several of your modules have a colour selection tool to apply modifications. However, this would be more useful if there were an option to apply only to contiguous areas. Today I wanted to select an area of ocean (all contiguous) to selectively apply an effect with the colour picker but it also selected all the...

I am unsure how far ON1 PR wants to emulate features in Photoshop – maybe the assumption is we all have it installed already? I use Paintshop pro and they have a great tool for making selections called “magic wand”. This quickly and easily adds or subtracts elements with SINGLE mouse clicks to make quite...
In the Lightroom Classic CC Develop module, I have the option to visualize spots which turns the screen black and makes it easier to see dust spots that need to be removed. I use this feature in Lightroom all the time and would like to have a similar feature Photo Raw. Thanks!
Some photo processing software has a handy feature usually called Inner Brightness (e.g. Luminar, Snapseed). Sometimes, after I apply a vignette in Photo Raw, I feel that it looks better if I go back to the Develop module and increase the overall brightness, then back into Effects to tweak the vignette, then back into Develop…...

For micro 4/3 it’s an important feature to be able to reduce high iso noise by stacking several images and averaging them.
In the resized module it would be cool to have a feature where you could size the tiles independently so you would have a unique tiled image made up of a variety of different sized tiles within the composition of the same image. One final image made up of different sized tiles.

Currently, there is no way to easily reveal sensor spots. For example a one-click button or checkbox. Similar to what Lightroom has.
In Photoshop:you can eliminate tourists from your picture by: 1:Set your camera on a tripod 2:Take a picture about every 10 seconds until you have about 15 shots 3:Open all images in Photoshop by going to file> statistics.chose “Median” and select the files you took Photoshop finds what is different in the photo and simply...
hallo, is it possible to add blending mode in header of panel ? is it possible to make “gear” icon orange if it was modified ? when we have a huge stack, it would be very helpful to see on headers the blend mode, opacity,… when panels are closed, perhaps it doubles the height of stack...

This filter would be a machine learning trained model that can identify the subject matter (e.g. portrait, architecture, landscape, etc) and automatically make the “best” adjustments to it. Would be good if it was tunable to some extent. Similar implementations include Adobe Sensei AI for Lightroom’s Auto setting and Macphun/Skylum Luminar’s Accent AI filter.

Most likely an addition to the layers module…   Would like to add a drop shadow  to the edge of an image of a multi layered composite image. Also have the ability to adjust the shadow’s position, blend-mode, opacity etc. and have the shadow produced move with the image while re-positioning.

ON1’s strength has always been in the development of clever filters.  Don’t get me wrong, Photo Raw has tremendous potential and is developing well.  But, some new filters would also be appreciated, and may help the Plug in side of your business. How about some filters to help a photo look more like a watercolour,...

Add more mask fine tuning option also in Layers, like the one used in Effect.
