About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I’d like to see a feature that allows you to preassign a set of EXIF and IPTC fields and automatically apply these settings to each RAW file to be opened.

Please add the following metadata to the thumbnails in film strip mode (rating, like, and possible color label). This will significantly improve the speed of culling and allow for a non-linear processing of images. This would also complement the filter functionality enhancing the culling experience and overall workflow speed while minimizing mouse clicks. BR Magnus

Please, please enhance the ability to insert metadata on import.  With the changes happening in Lightroom, I’d really like to dump it, but use the metadata import presets heavily.

I like to use Color tags to indicate an image status. An image can have more than one status. For example: Not Developed, HDR image, Pano image, revisit later, etc. are not mutually exclusive. The ability to have multiple color tags and be able to filter by multiple colors would be immensely helpful to various...

When using a third party photo browser like eg. Fastone image viewer, I am able to see the software used to develop the image, sooc  jpegs show the camera make and model, jpegs exported from lightroom show the LR version used, portrait pro the same, but photos developed in On1 the software field is left blank. It...

It would be helpful if all available metadata from raw files was read by Photo Raw. As of 2017.6, embedded GPS exif data in my RW2 files is not seen by Photo Raw. I started experimenting a bit to get a better idea of what was going on and noticed that Photo Raw also does...

There are many fotos with persons or groups in a large gallery. To add the names of one or more person to the photo, the only way is to add them as keywords. Some Software like Apple-Fotos can automaticaly find faces, but can not save this information to the Metadata. It would be helpfull, if...

The ability to add metadata to multiple images seems to be restricted to Browse Grid View. You don’t want to know how many times I’ve selected multiple images in Filmstrip view and added a keyword and later found it only added to the highlighted image. Please modify Browse to allow metadata changes to all selected...

I’d like to see the camera serial number be included in the metadata. Comes in handy if you have more than one camera of the same model. i.e. You have two people shooting with the same model.

Each time the custom date range icon (small calendar) is pressed it resets back to the current date instead of retaining the previously entered date range from the current session. Maybe it would be better to list all of the dates gathered from the photos being browsed as the start date and used the same...

I have xmp data that I am unable to access in PR. The field I’m looking for is Person in Image. I think it would be useful to choose xmp fields to display in the Metadata panel.

It is quite clear that ON1 could be used in place of Lightroom but it does not have a feature I use routinely. I have many photos from the days of film and need to date them with the actual time the photo was taken. Please add this feature so I can finally let Lightroom...

I have many thousands of digitized images and I would like a simple, (don’t waste my time reading in detail) way to append the Metadata with name, general subject, copyright status, copyright notice, etc. for as many as I’m inclined or thousands.

Export function: text from metadata embedded in image. For example, labeling with Filename or Date&Time. User control of text font/size/color/text_background_color/transparency/text_position.

I would like to get the option that metadata is added automatically when I open a a photo in RAW.  Metadata like creator (always me), Copyright (always me), email (always mine) and whatever I chose to add always. Would save a lot of time, and you cannot forget to do it anymore.

Currently I do a lot of my editing in Lightroom, but would very much like to reverse that process, and possibly use RAW as the go to standalone editor. Part of that process is adding ratings, flags or other things that could be used as filters — also location information, etc. To save that added...

Currently when sharing/exporting to Apple Photos, pictures are not shared/exported based on ORIGINAL date and time the photograph were shot. Instead the photos are exported with the date and time of the export process. By default should export to Apple Photos based on date & time in EXIF or alternatively provide an options dialog for...

Would be nice to have an EXIF editor.  Mirrorless camers can use older maual focus glass.  You can put the focal legnth in the camera. But it would just say 50mm in the field. But if you 3 differnt 50mm lens (Nikon, Canon, Leica or ƒ1.8 or 1,4)there would be no way of telling which...

Lightroom has the ability to store an IPTC template which can be added to all selected photos in the Library mode. On1 Photo RAW could eliminate the need to use Lightroom in the workflow by adding a similar feature.  With this addition to the Browse mode all photos could have the IPTC metadata added using...

Hello. I know in both ON1 Photo 10.5 and Photo RAW apps, the photos EXIF information can be viewed in different modules from the INFO tab at the top of the right pane. However, if a different view is chosen such as “Loupe, Nav, or Histogram”, this information is no longer visible. This makes it...

One of the downfalls of Lightroom is the ability to add Exif data to photos. There have been plenty of times whether it be scanned photos, cell phone pics, or even sometimes DSLR photos that are missing certain exif data fields. Lightroom doesn’t let you add these without downloading a separate plugin. Why can’t we...

I use Photomechanics as an extremely fast “ingest engine” and browser. When I ingest photos from my CD cards, I rename photos. Then I browse them, delete some, tag a few and give ratings to the best ones. I need to keep PM colors codes, stars, and “checks” (maybe called ticks?). I need to easily...

For my purposes, I’d really like to be able to remove camera and lens specific data when exporting files I intend to email / share. I’m sure others would like to be able to add entries, as well to the specific resized or exported versions they create. This could be just another drop-down, similar to...
