About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

Hello, I like to export my photos for my widescreen monitor. It is 3440×1440 21:9 ratio. Would it be possible to add a floating, mouse driven rectangle, the size of what will be exported, so I can select what area of the photos to be included into the exported image? Currently the export only focuses...

I have all my photos organized by year then month and then occasionally by event inside of month. What I’d like to be able to do is export all photos from a specific year and have the photos exported with the same folder structure. Basically I need to duplicate photos onto a networked drive a...

Lightroom Classic CC has very good export features and I would like to see more of them incorporated into On1 Photo RAW. I am editing large numbers of product photos. Hundreds of products, and each product has about 12 to 14 photos in its set and after I’m done editing, I need to be able...

To be honest this is a must for me, I export a lot of varied sizes for different reasons…the rename function as ‘title’ needs to be added as an option. The whole Export module needs a revamp, it’s almost flexible but not quite. The resize function needs to be – resize to the max specified...

The export destination displays the program files path for ON1.  Please have the export folder default to the current working folder when choosing a folder.  Who wants to save their images to the program file path? Thank you.
I would like the ability to Export a file to a PDF for low res proofing and high res printing of files.

Could you please consider offering an option to export edited photos to a sub-folder of their current location, the sub-folder to be named and created at time of export.  As things stand one has to create the sub-folder in the left-hand panel.

I create DVDs from my images and each folder represents a chapter in the DVD.   The main folders each contain original RAW images and as images are edited they are exported to a sub-folder “DVD”, ready to be used in the video editing software. In Lightroom the export dialogue has 3 options:  Current Folder, Specific...

Hi, I hope that there will be a shortcut to export photos quickly from thumbnails and filmstrip using saved export’s presets. My suggestion would be: Right click photo > Quick Export > [List of Saved Presets] Thanks :)

Summary of the problem I’ve tried using the export function for preparing files for professional third-party printing, as it has functionality to sharpen the photo for the type of paper and embed the printers colour profile and export this as a jpeg. However the third-party printers only have pre-set paper sizes. There’s already functionality that...

The file export gives us the ability to add a serialized numbering but it only works from where you start. Meaning if you have an existing file called “Abstract_01” and you put into the export rename “Abstract_” and serial number of “01” you’ll end up with a two files, one called “Abstract_01” and another called...

After much thought I wmtjd like to suggest that in the Photo Pane ON1 have a ‘constrained’ option that can be ticked. Most of my images are not the standard ratio and when I then want to resize them to be within a certain size, but want to keep the same proportions I need to...

It would be nice to quick export a file to a specific file size in Mb instead of a percentage… Sometimes you have to have to export a JPEG to a maximum file size in Mb. It’s difficult to achieve this using percentages.
There are many ways to resize and customize an images size when exporting. On1 remembers the last setting you used when you open the program again. It would be a great time saver if there were a checkbox to reset all settings to the default settings like when you first install the program.   Thank...

Quite a few times – I need to export an image (without cropping) for external use and Faststone Image Viewer, Lightroom etc allow you to put in the maximum dimensions eg 1920 horizontal and 1080 vertical. Then, when you export – no matter what size or shape your image is (including landscape and vertical) the...
When exporting a picture to jpg you can chose the width and/or height and also the quality of the jpg but you never know in advance what will be the weight of the pictures in Kb. In some cases you need a picture with a maximum weight.

I prepare images for use on an image viewer on a website. My originals are both landscape and portrait and cropped to suit so they end up being a variety of shapes and sizes. I would like the ability to export a batch of images explicitly setting the height or width and letting the other...

Currently Photo Raw uses the preference pane default format option to decide what to send to external editors. While this should be a fallback option, I would prefer multiple settings (based on selected images format – RAW’s, TIFF’s, JPG’s) or intelligent options, such as: If the selected photo is a RAW file and has no...

it would be very useful to have an option in exporting/resize to have a “Height = ..” so whether the image is landscape or portrait, they all come out 1000 high (eg) which is good for formatting books, videos, on screens etc. Now, I have to choose all verticals and export to 1000 longest side,...

It would be helpful if one could export albums from one computer and import them into another running On1 Raw for folks migrating from Lightroom to On1 Raw. Here is my use case: Old computer has LR an On1 2019 installed. The pictures and LR catalog are on a Samsung T5 drive. Did a migration...
Export resize does not allow to select width or height separately. If you want to export landscape and portrait photo at the same time you can’t select the same height value or width value for all of them and need to presets to do so. I’ve asked for this several times and it never gets...
Import: allow import to select by date (ala ACDSee) and exclude suspected ‘duplicates’ ala LR. Export: allow export to automagically create an export directory based on a template. e.g. exports could go to a directory called ‘exports’ under the source directory.
The Chroma subsampling for jpeg exports is 4:2:0 instead of 4:4:4 like most other photo applications.  I would like to see the ability in a future update to export jpegs at full color Chroma Subsampling 4:4:4. Thanks Tony

The current version of On1 Raw 2019 has no capability to apply one or more presets specifically within the export process. It would be useful to apply specific presets in the export process without having to first save them in the photo sidecar. Examples could be, to apply a custom border, to apply a LUT...
When you export a file, you get the choice “Folder” (last folder used) or current folder. If you chose folder, it goes to the root folder where On1 is installed (C: Program files, ON1, On1 Photo Raw 2019. (at least the first time you start after you started On1 that day). I would be better...

Exporting images from ON1 is quite slow and blocks the program completely. As a reasonable easy to implement solution I, I suggest to create some kind of temporary “batch file” with all the export recopies in it, once export is launched. That batchfile is then sent to a different instance of the ON1 program (which...

Exporting in the background became available in version 2018.5. This is a great improvement. The problem is that the “switch” to change this setting is pretty well hidden. I could not find it and I had to ask support how to enable Background Exporting. I suggest two things. 1. make it easier to find the...

The Catalog contains a lot of Photo Metadata and it would be great if I could access the database with visualisation tools   to analyse the photos (e.g. Lens, focal range and Aperture usage for different Photo Genres or photographers, Uwe of ON1 filters for different photo genres, ….). Alternatively: the ability to Export this...

I do not get the control of the watermark placement that I would like to see.  It would be much better to have an x/y axis for watermark inset instead of the current system.
