About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I do not get the control of the watermark placement that I would like to see.  It would be much better to have an x/y axis for watermark inset instead of the current system.

One workflow is to work on successive source files, getting them as polished as you can get them; you have several works in progress, none of them complete. In this workflow, when you export the file, the filename is always the last-used filename overall, not the last-used filename for this particular image. On1 Raw should...

When clicking export on the bottom right corner there are two options to export to: Current Folder and Folder – there is also a Choose… button. When Current Folder is selected, the Choose… button disappears. When Folder is selected after this, it usually defaults to ON1 Photo RAW folder, which is very far from the...

Sometimes you don’t want to show people certain things like which camera you are using, it would be great to be able to strip out selected information fields on export like in Lightroom.
Exporting (or even) resizing an image (similar to LR) where you can state the Mb and also have the ability like LR to input the 2 sizes – eg 1400 x 1050 – and on export have the program restrict itself to the size that will fit one or the other sizes without cropping/extending the...
I think it’s kind of unfortunate that the in-built resize module doesn’t explicitly tell you what the new exported file size will be. No additional math from the user, just have a field that says “Your new file size is X”. I’ve tried uploading many panos to ON1’s own discussion groups where the file size...

I will lke to see option of saving a file with maximum size. (e.g. when saving a file i will like to control file size below 2MB/3 MB.) This is important as many websites allow to showcase your work but allow only if file size is below 2 MB)
This is similar to another idea that is flagged under review, but I need MP rather than MB. I submit to various agencies, and I don’t want to submit anything larger than necessary. I have found by trial and error that limit size to 6MP covers all the bases. Limiting long/short size to 3K or...
Quick export and the full export methods afford numerous options, many I don’t need every time. Aperture allowed drag and drop to the desktop affording an easy way to make the photograph accessible for an email attachment, facebook post etc. Bypassing all the selections…that’s the point of this idea.

Quick Export has a keyboard shortcut, but I haven’t been able to find one for the detailed Export function; it would help streamline my workflow.

One of the features in LR that I often use is Emailing. I haven’t found this in On1Raw. Would love to have it. Lorin Cary

In Lightroom I could save “Send to other Applications” connection info.  Currently, if On1 doesn’t automatically find a program such as it does for PhotoElements and the NIK Collections you have to use the “Send to other Applications” and browse for the program “exe” file.  It would be great if I could save he connections...
I’ve been using lightroom and there is/was an addin, that allowed us to export multiple sizes, why?  Because web pages required the thumbnail, the product picture and the ‘large’ picture… Rather than export each one ‘manually’ and wait for it to finish exporting, it would be ideal and it was extremely time efficient to export...
It is very important to have possibility export photo in CMYK  colour range because print office require this format.
The Quick Export function (found under File>Quick Export), is great when I need to quickly rename or to change the format of a file, (i.e. move from Tiff to Jpeg, etc.). It would be better still, if it also allowed us the option to also change the colour space, (i.e. to change from Adobe RGB...

When creating Panos/HDRs in LR it will save the result as a DNG which still gives all the Advantages of a RAW-File. It would be great to have that Option in On1 too. Alternatively give users 2 Export Options: 1.DNG 2. TIFF/PSD with Layers allowing for adjustment in the layers module so that later fine...

In Lightroom, when I am ready to print –  I pick a template and then my watermark copyright and I can type it in and use what font and size I want and were I want to put it. But with ON1 Photo Raw I can only add an image with my watermark copyright and...

When exporting multiple images I’d like to set a maximum height and width and keep the aspect ratio I’ve cropped the images to. So if I export to max size of 1400×1050 and the crop is actually 1:1 then it should end up 1050×1050.

Would it be possible to bring presets for resize features like Adobe Spark? Like Instagram, Facebook cover or profile, YouTube cover size etc etc So with just one click it would be done and it will be very useful to most of the users. It is just a request as user as I keep uploading...

Most of my photos I try to crop in the same ratio as my DSLR, 3:2. Some though I use freehand especially if it’s not something that needs to be printed and fit into a certain print size. So I would like when you do an export (especially a bulk export) that it just takes...

Please add the ability to export files as dng.  Some clients require raw, however I would like to be able to supply them with files I have have enhanced and not assume they know anything about xmp sidecars. Thanks! Jeff

LR has a very handy feature where by you can select a number of photos and have them appear on a single page in a grid format – this appears in the Print Section. The grid set up can be customised by the user, then saved as a jpg. I use this to send photoshoot...

Basically I need two type of files from my raws … JPEG with a maximum resolution and JPEG able to be stored in the cloud (75%) … so it would be nice to build an export creating both files at once a time. Today I have two exports presets, and one doing all would be...

When exporting files in JPEG format,  I don’t see the approximate file size at my chosen quality level.  This is important since quality and file size are obvious trade-offs, and I usually aim for about 4 MB files (depending on intended use).  Since file size is not available, my only recourse is trial and error...

Rename and Export use the same configuration of Current name, Text and Number. When renaming a group of files, I usually use text followed by a serial number (20171127 – 001) but when exporting, I need the original filename plus a description (20171127 – 001 – Zoo). The problem is that every time you switch...

Hi there, It would be nice to have the possibility to save an image with this options: User selects dimensions (e.g. in px) User selects image size (e.g. kB) ON1 Photo RAW calculates image compression quality for JPEG User can see resulting image quality (by zooming) before saving the image. I use Photoshop Elements which...

When using a third party photo browser like eg. Fastone image viewer, I am able to see the software used to develop the image, sooc  jpegs show the camera make and model, jpegs exported from lightroom show the LR version used, portrait pro the same, but photos developed in On1 the software field is left blank. It...
On1’s resizing algorithm is one of the best I’ve seen, but there is one major limitation… I have a picture I need to print to canvases, more than one size. I have already done any edits for visual improvement & need only output to print. I can crop to my exact requirement, but then I...
