About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

When synching settings to batch process images I don’t want the lens correction to be copied as may have zoomed in between some photos with same lighting/exposures.
After editing a batch of photos I usually upload a selection of them to Flickr. As it works currently if I select the photos and it the share icon followed by the Flickr icon it will render the group of pictures (which may take a while) and then prompt for details like tags/album/privacy then I...

Lightroom feature would be awesome for real estate photographers! Stack for each HDR grouping – then batch process. BAM! Just a thought  It takes a lot of time to process 30 HDR for a shoot – I find myself reverting to LR.

As part of Browse, I would like to have a “Bulk Rename” functionality so that you can select some/all of the photos in a folder/subfolder and have the files renamed using both freeform text and photo metadata information. Examples of metadata that could be used for the naming EXIF: Camera EXIF: Date IPTC: Title IPTC:...
It would be a huge feature if we could choose to amend or replace when batch changing metadata as in Aperture – Also if we could truly customize the metadata templates like Aperture – going into EPTC and selecting just what we need

Please enable sequential numbering of photos. I take a LOT of wildlife and bird photos. Once I sort yo reject any that are out if focus or badly composed I will save the rest. I can batch save metadata (thank you!) but it seems that I have to number each file separately — e.g. red-tailed...

Add a module or function to create startrails with edited images without requiring exporting them to use another software or avoiding load a lot of images in Layers module. When using lot of images (many hundreds in  some cases) Layers Module is not the best option so a batch process will be better.
It would be great if On1, a tool I already use, could add an automatic facial recognition portrait cropping tool like what Pixnub does. It will even batch process multiple presets at the same time. So useful! Portrait Crop is a Photoshop plugin. It can automatically make image crops based on face recognition. It calculates the face...
I previously requested a single keypress (Alt+F2 or Ctrl+R) to rename a file. But when renaming several existing files in a row (i.e. not on export), it can be convenient to do it the way I would do it in Lightroom. And I could do that with one simple change to Photo RAW. At the...

Auto tone function is often quite off and not useful because it uses contrast to spread the tones. That creates an ugly result. For efficiency, I would like to see a group of photos selected and use the auto tone function to get all the photos in a near acceptable tonal result. Right now, I...

I have more than ten thousands photos in the library because I am a portrait photo grapher. So the file names are important to me. For now, ON1 file naming function is very weak. To summerize, renaming files at least need below functions: 1, 2018 has version/virtual copy function, which is good. However, the file...

A Lightroom method of quickly finding sensor dust spot (enhanced edge detecting) and batch removal is an essential requirement. An automatic “discover and batch removal” would be even better. How I see this working… ON1 analyses multiple images from a shoot and looks for potential dust spots. They should be in the same place on...

I agree with many others about enhancing the file renaming capability. I currently use LightRoom and it allows me to file my photos with a naming convention that includes the date and time extracted from the XMP metadata. it is as follows: YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS-JAH.dng If there are more photos taken within the same second, I have...
This feature would make it visually easier, and more efficient to quickly culling throw many pictures. The difference compared to when you filter out “Dislike” is that you can still see them in the filmstrip and therefore re-evaluate them given similar photos taken later/earlier in the same batch of photos. In my workflow, I normally...

Please PLEASE bring back the Bach process Round Trip capabilities from Lightroom – Photo Raw – Lightroom. This is a key element of my work flow and sadly do not see myself turning away from LR to use ON1 as a stand alone. They make the perfect couple. Please bring back this feature.

It would be a huge time saver if there were a way to batch process the removal of sensor dust spots on multiple photos. In Photoshop, you can open all your photos that are in the same orientation; clean up the spot on the first image with the spot removal tool; select all the other...
How about adding an option to the serial number field to generate random serial numbers, allowing the user to select beginning and ending numbers – for example: start at 001 and end at 999, or start at 3000 and end at 5000 This would be very useful to rename photos in a random order for...

As an aerial mapping photographer, we always shoot in Canon or Nikon RAW. This often produces up to 1000 images, that need to be processed to JPEGS or TIFFS. Whilst we can do an action in PS that will include ON1, it would be good to have a standalone routine in your RAW and also...

When shooting aerobatic airplane in airshows I select a low shutter speed to capture the prop rotation effect, which obviously results in some pictures becoming blurred. When editing pictures in LR, I have to go through every single picture to identify and remove the blurry ones ! I propose adding a feature to detect and...
