About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

Something that I REALLY REALLY miss from Aperture is a feathering tool which is in effect just a really nice blending tool! So NO MATTER WHICH brush action you use… cloning, dodging, burning, blurring, saturation etc, etc. the feathering/blending brush will help blend where the adjustment or masking brush was used on the original image. And...

It would be great if I had the ability to FLIP THE IMAGE VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY in Layers… There have been quite a few times where having this ability would have been SUPER helpful in my editing workflow. I like to flip for both creative effects, and for those few but horrible times that I...

I would like to see a photo raw app designed for mobile use in addition to the desktop app. The app should include the main editing features of the desktop app (including re-size for print), the use of presets you created in the desktop app and have Snapseed user-friendliness (which is often still lacking today)....

Lightroom, iPhoto, and Apple Photos all include an integrated printing service.  ON1 could partner with Mpix, Millers, etc. and integrate a print ordering solution directly into the software.  Best would be an option to design and order prints, books, albums, calendars, gifts, etc (with automatic upload to the printing service).  Users would be able to...

We use raw files as they best preserve all the information captured. Yet there are few tools provided to verify the quality of the raw data gathered. For example, all the cameras I know of provide jpg histograms but not raw histograms. One can take a photo of a red rose, verifying the in camera...
Please Histograms internally generate with 16-bit resolution (65536 levels). With option display m0dulation and inspection with interpolated resolutions varying in the range from 100 levels to the full 16-bit precision, including the standard 8-bit (256 levels) 10-bit (1024 levels) and 12-bit (4096) binary resolutions. Histograms   tools with  direct pixel manipulation define by a set of...

I would like to see an auto adjustment that picks up the settings from the camera image’s embedded jpg and applies them to the captured raw image.  Since we have set the camera to apply these settings (contrast, saturation, sharpening, etc.) to jpg captures, it makes sense that we might want to have our raw...

I’m using DNG files and let lightroom write sidecar information. Unfortunately lightroom writes this information into the DNG-files. It would be great, if on1 photo raw could use, handle and update this information within the DNG-files.

Many camera club competitions require JPG images of a set size, e.g. 1400 x 1050 and when smaller in one dimension, e.g. 1200 x 1050, need to have the spare canvas filled with black or another colour of choice. It would be great to have this option.

Add file verification whenever importing files from camera cards or moving them from one location to another. Right now the only way to assure you’ve copied files from a camera card onto a computer is to first use an application like ShotPut Pro or Chronosync. These will not only copy files to desired locations but...

Allow sets of images like bracketed or HDR sets to be stacked together and show only as one thumbnail for the whole set to emake it much easier for rating and selecting. The sets should be able to be stacked based on the time between images ie. less than a second, less than 2 sec...

I believe this was implemented for MAC users but never was for those of us using Windows. I’d like to be able to publish direct to Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, 500px etc.
When copying adjustments from one photo to another there should be a “smart copy of local adjustments (brushes, clone/stamp tool)” that automatically moves, resizes, and even changes shape of the adjustment to match exactly the same subject on the target photo. Example: we have two similar photos of one person – same background, same lighting,...

It would be useful to see a list of everything I’ve done to an image. This need not be a literal history, that is, if I added an effect then removed it, that does not need to be captured. What I want is a list like this: Exposure +0.3, Dynamic Contrast Normal, Vignetting Round Subtle-opacity...

The ability to adjust contrast at the standard, fine and micro levels individually is great, I use it quite a bit in DxO Optics Pro. To implement these functions on a layer or as a layer mask is great to enhance or smooth/soften details. To have these as a brush fuction would be amazing so...

Adding support for custom Adobe Camera RAW profiles made with Xrite profiling color checker passport is a feature I would be thrilled to use. I use it for every image put through my current RAW software and it really helps get the most consistent color accurate results from camera to camera, lens to lens, and photo...

I use the Adjustment Tools in the Effects Module quite often, sometimes creating multiple filters.  One change I would like to see is having the ability edit the Preset “Name” in the filter module that is created in the Right Pane.   For example, if I add a new filter and select the “Lighten”, the...

I’d LOVE to be able to freely rearrange photos in Browse so that I can rename the images and have them in a custom order of my choosing. Aperture had this feature and it was really helpful! While this doesn’t initially appear to be a big item, it is when culling and viewing images. I currently still use ACDSee to scroll through images quickly and then to decide which images to cull or send to Photoshop for editing. Even Lightroom doesn’t have a quick, full-screen ability to view images by scrolling the...

I’d like the possibility to create multiple output sets. For example after selecting alle processed images and selecting an output set it will export all images: As a small JPG (1024×768, 72 dpi) with selected watermark As a HD JPG (1920×1080, 72 dpi) with other selected watermark As a full res JPG In other cases...

It would be great to have the option to flip horizontal and vertical  what you clone. It would also be great if you could angle what you clone. Now you can only select a source and clone that exactly as the source. (Yeah, that’s why it’s called cloning, so let’s call this cloning 2.0)

When I use multiple times the adjustment brush, in the filter stack they are all called adjustment brush. It would be extremely helpful if they were named after their task: Adjustment brush Darken, adjustment brush Detail, adjustment brush glow, and so on. Now it is guessing which one you need if you come back and...

I’m living in France and i find that ON1 photo suite is a great app But all the tutorials are in english and i hope that for the new raw photo app you will please incorpored  a french translation Thank you Gilbert WOERTH
This may be a bit too far outside the container, but… How about a Raw processor that can capture luminosity ranges from different exposures of the same shot, eliminating the need for HDR or other digital layer blending? Imagine specifying 3 luminosity ranges and then selecting the RAW exposure from which that luminosity information would...

Would love to see a feature similar to the Map module in Lightroom.  I like using a map of my photos as I find it much more useful to find photos I’ve taken in a specific area without having to rely on filtering keywords.  Also, while newer devices  apply GPS to the photos, I have...
