About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I would like to easily be able to select a colour and be able to change the Hue, Saturation, Luminance and even the colour of the selction. ala Capture one Pro colour editor. I Think Capture 1 pro has this implemented very well. Would love to see something similar in On1 Raw. No need for...

What I would like to see, when you go to preset and you put your mouse pointer over the preset, it give you a visual look at what the presets would look like, instead you have to actually select it, similar to how filters work

It would be great if On1 could finally print an actual paper manual. There are so many features and adjustments that can be made with On1, but learning how to use them, why.when to use them…or even that they exist…requires a lengthy period of trial and error. I know that On1 has made a number...

Apple Photos, Flickr, and now Lightroom have companion apps for navigating through and displaying photo catalogs/albums on TVs with set top boxes, as well as as working as slide shows and screen-savers. At my house and office, with large, properly-calibrated 4k TVs, this is the principal way of viewing photos.  Please publish ON1Photo Raw apps...

Please provide support for file copying from multiple media cards with renaming, sequential numbering and tagging with metadata. Sequential numbering functions should be smart/flexible enough to accommodate the copying of files from multiple memory cards into the same directory without a filename/number conflict that may result in overwrite. To avoid file name/number conflicts, either detect the...

I have been using On1 for a few years now and can’t live without it.  There is one area that I find lacking in the previous versions – Odd Shape Vignettes. There are times when a square/oval/round vignette just doesn’t do the photo justice.  The addition of moving the center of the vignette has helped...

Add an option to show/treat jpg/raw file couples as “one file” in the browse module. Many photographers shoot jpg/raw at the same time and don’t want e.g. to rate every file twice and see every file twice while browsing (best would be option to tick this on and off). Changes to metadata like ratings should...

ON1 Browse appears to not support DNG format unless you mean that is hidden in ‘Raw from over 250 cameras’. – If not, please add support for (layered) DNG file format in ON1 RAW – In browser ‘convert to dng’ action feature, after conversion open automatically in ON1 Raw o Conversion with the usual, preview...

I know many folk never touch keywording so this will not be for you.  Those of us that use images for our work often rely heavily on key-wording for searching, a single photo may show many features (I am an ecologist, I may need to tag locations, habitats, animals, vegetation, climate, etc., all in one...

I found DXO Perspective the most useful plugin to work on perspective, I’d like to find this functionality in RAW. Adobe has introduce something like this in last ACR. Would be very interesting to find also some function as the wide angle tool in PS (to correct curved lines).

I would like to see social media (Facebook, Google+, YouPic, 500px, Flickr, etc) integrated into the export module. Either in a way of an add on module for the social medias you are a part of or as part of a list with the ability to log in and upload your photos to the site/s...

Wizards may seem a little restrictive but they would help lessen the learning curve. An alternative would be providing users with a macro-builder which could be used to create custom workflows and one or more of these could be used like wizards on top of the creation of macros create a way for users to...

A paint brush where you can correct a wrong colour – e.g a sun flare has given part of the tree a hazy reddish tinge (the rest of the shot is perfect) – it would be wonderful if you could take a sample, match and paint in the correct  colour.

VSCO presets became the “industry standard”, a lot of photographers build their unique editing prosseses based on these presets.

The amazing Wavelet sharpening plugin in Aftershot Pro (it’s not even part of the standard ASP toolkit but a 3rd party add on) is like fractal resizing is to bicubic resizing, it’s just so so much better than other sharpening methods. I’d love to see it implemented.

I think it’s important that GUI feels like a native Mac application. Support two finger scrolling (take into account the setting “natural direction”), zooming and rotating gestures. The smoother the better.

To greatly increase workflow the product has to work with pen/stylus such as Wacom, Microsoft Surface, iPad Pro. Would like the ability to have leverage all aspects of those. Context pop out menus for each based on buttons, taps, etc. Same could happen with the mouse. I would like to work on images full screen...
A feature which watches a hot folder, applies a pre-set (e.g. convert to B&W, resize longest edge to fit 3000px and sharpen) to images placed within that folder, and then auto export the images to a ‘proof folder’. This would allow photographers shooting at an event, for example, to send images to the hot-folder on...

For false-color infrared, the ability to swap color channels is vary important.  This is often quite cumbersome and tedious using other packages.  The math here is easy but the feature is rarely included because it’s unnecessary for normal color work.  IF ON1 RAW would add the ability to change the swap channel order in the...

I would appreciate if there would be the option to use “Processing tags” next to the “photo tags” describing the image (keywording). Processing tags can help you to get a quick view on the status of the photo when processing. These processing tags can be auto-generated by the individual tools in each module.

Since “Affinity Photo” is a lot like photoshop (with a much better price and as a normal standalone sw) but does not have a browse function it would be great if it could communicate with Photo Raw.

When developing / editing process ends, it should be possible to give a name to the file based on several criteria chosen by me (user). I mean: Shutter speed, aperture, ISO… I would like to use On1Photo Raw as a wonderful app witch allows me to do everything I need on my photos without needing...

When shooting aerobatic airplane in airshows I select a low shutter speed to capture the prop rotation effect, which obviously results in some pictures becoming blurred. If someone shares camera files with you, whether raw or jpg, you may want to rename them using your own conventions. So her “DSC_8237.jpg” becomes your “2016-07-11 11.17.04.jpg”. This makes it difficult for the two of you to know which image you are talking about. It would be helpful if any renaming operation could (at...

The idea: In browser mode, user could select a number of images and then rename (or copy & rename) them. So, for example, 8 images in a directory of 94 images taken at a dog park could be changed from names like “2016-07-22 11.09.24.RAF” to “2016-07-22 11.09.24- -Ginger.RAF”. (Accomplished by adding “- -Ginger” to the...

The main reason I left LR to transitioned to ON1 full-time was that LR (for Mac) had a glitch that would change the creation date of the files instead of the modify date. I have since adopted a workflow that I rename all my file based on the creation date and then sequence. I would...
