About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

This is something we are not planning on adding at this time.

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

I am not a photographer. I am a graphic designer who uses images to communicate ideas, both for print publishing and electronic publishing. I purchase and manipulate stock images and use them in books and web sites. that I design. It would be great to have a module to take an RGB image and make...
It would be very useful the add a feature to the HDR command where the system starting from a selected image automatically create 3-5 copies of the same image having a different exposure (-/+ 1 EV or have the possibility to set the EV interval) and then merge them to create the HDR effects. The...

I notice that if you are in layers and decide to discontinue with the work you are doing, you cannot return immediately to Browse. The project you are working on is saved when you don’t want it and this takes time. Whereas in ON1 Raw 2018 there was a save/close button and if you clicked...

One of the reasons I keep using Photoshop is CMYK. When designing leaflets, booklets, etc, I need to convert images to this mode in order to send off to printers. Would be great if you could integrate this into Photo Raw.

The problem is how to calibrate the screen brightness for editing. This can be an issue if the screen brightens forces the apparent 18% gray lighter or darker that normal.  Some photographers shoot an 18% gray target and/or white card with each session so that they can accurately color balance their work in post-processing.  I...
I want you to seriously pressure Canon to write a print plug-in like they wrote for Photoshop for their professional printers. Specifically the IPF 8400. It far surpasses the print engine in Photoshop CS6. And when I say ‘pressure’ I mean it The Japanese do NOT like change. I can tell you this categorically from...
I would like to be able to hide tabs in the Browse panel – not just close the pane. So – two levels – show/hide and open/close (=todays show/hide). Applicable to all the panes. And separate Cataloged folders, Local drives and Cloud storage to individual tabs.
Work with a pre-existing RIP company to include a print module within Photo RAW. PrinTao (LaserSoft) would be a great place to start. Work towards flexibility and ease of use to produce high quality prints.

Can we have a version of ON1 mobile for windows tablets with the same features as the IPAD version?
In the resized module it would be cool to have a feature where you could size the tiles independently so you would have a unique tiled image made up of a variety of different sized tiles within the composition of the same image. One final image made up of different sized tiles.

When adjusting softproof for specific print combination add to the “version” something like “prCAnon” to individual cate this is the version optimized to print on this printer and maybe also encode paper

Add nextcloud (http://nextcloud.com) and owncloud (http://owncloud.org) under “Preferences” > “Mobile” > “Online Storage Service”
It is very important to have possibility export photo in CMYK  colour range because print office require this format.

When creating Panos/HDRs in LR it will save the result as a DNG which still gives all the Advantages of a RAW-File. It would be great to have that Option in On1 too. Alternatively give users 2 Export Options: 1.DNG 2. TIFF/PSD with Layers allowing for adjustment in the layers module so that later fine...

I would like to recommend that On 1 create a conversion feature in On1 RAW, similar to what Lightroom has, that would convert Aperture Managed Libraries to formats that could be used with On 1 RAW and other programs (.PSD/.TIFF/.JPEG), and retaining the Aperture catalog structure resident in existing user libraries. I have used On...
Exporting pictures in CMYK with a definable Color profile of the printing machine (ISO coated V2 300%,  PDFX-ready ISOcoatedV2_300_ab_CS4)
First fix RAW 2018 so it works with OSX High Sierra. Add the ability to include HDR, Panorama, Layers, and Resize as extensions in Apple Photos like you do with Develop and Effects. $49 Affinity Photo allows Photos to use any of it’s modules as extensions.

Like other programs, when I use these functions, I want to go right away in the processing of the image or save it where I want. I don’t want to be force to save into my existing catalog, but anywhere I want. So I want the dialog after processing images, SAVE TO / DEVELOP

I really hope you support .TIFF-files with layers in the next time. Currently On1 Photo Raw can show them, but better no one try to open it in an editor. He will loose all his work (layers). It’s a pitty that the Mother of image files is cutted. Instead this just .PSD is supported fully....

Are you planning no adding the capability to swap the panels position? This is very important for all you left-handed customers that are using any kind of tablet (surface) or Wacom-like products that display the image. While retouching an image, when you reach the sliders panels your arm gets over the photo, so you cannot...

I use external editors/plugins that do not have integration with On1.  I would like ON1 to have an improved workflow when using the edit in> function so that the edited file from the external editor/plugin gets automatically imported into my ON1 catalog.  For example, I use Luminar to edit photos (not Photoshop) and when I...

For Files/Extras in Layers, please consider making this a list of the folders that can be opened by selecting a right arrow on the right and when clicked, this would expand the presents to be viewed.  This would enable multiple folders to be opened up at the same time and save a lot of time. With...

When I have completed making changes to my photo I know I can save them as a Preset but if you did this for every photo you would end up with literally hundreds of presets; even by putting them into a folder on their own would still mean a lot of presets. I know I...

Hi, just watched a Nicolesy video which runs through the tilt shift effect (https://www.on1.com/blog/on1-short-clip-simulate-a-tilt-shift-lens/), also demonstrated is how to correct brush stokes made in error using the ‘Erase Brush Strokes’ tool (see 5:20) which does a great job, far better than just +/- masking brushes or perfect brush. I have been advised that the Erase...

I just recently was working on a photo that had red-eye in it. I was in Develop and wanted to remove it but the tool wasn’t available. I switched to Effects and saw it wasn’t available there either. I ended up in Layers to use the Red-Eye removal tool and it worked fine, but having...

I use Canon’s ‘PRINT STUDIO PRO’, which I have as a plug-in to Photoshop Elements 12. Could this be made as plug-in directly in ON1 ?

In Perfect 9.5 a preset would load as a stack of filters on the right hand side in edit window  in collapsed view as default. Now in Photo Raw 2017 each of the individual filter in the preset is stacked in an expanded view in FX. This makes navigating and adjusting through the list very...

It is all very well to show the build number in the About splash page BUT it would make a lot more sense to actually have the versioning included in the file name for example 2017.0.2 or 2017.1.0. This would allow the user to see what the actual version is that has been downloaded rather...
