About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

It’s often, that I develop a picture and set or modify my rating just after. It would be nice to get the rating panel also in the develop module. Currently I have to switch back to the browse module to do this task

I would expect crop to to resize all sides when holding option (mac) and dragging from a corner or side. Currently cropping to the middle, for example,  takes 2 separate clicks / drags to resize.

I use the excellent file renaming feature quite a lot, and many collections of my photos end up containing individual pictures with names like DSC01385-hyde-park-spring-2018-01.arw and so on, with the last two digits increasing throughout the collection. I edit the Title in the IPTC header to have the same name in a different format, such...

Just recently discovered that Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 is offering Benvista PhoZoom Classic 7.1 as an add on to the program. I believe $35 was the price. Classic 7 is an excellent image enlargement software, I have the stand alone version and go to it first to enlarge an image. Any interest in add on...

I reopen pictures to try new settings. A lot of times I fiddle with the sliders and don’t like the results and would like to reset the file to the opening state. It would be nice to have a single button reset to the opening state. I don’t want to have to create a new...

I want to be able to keep my originals – .nef, .orf, .cr2, etc. — in a separate, read-only location. That would mean that any sidecar files, intermediate .psd and .tif must be pointed to a different location on a different drive. That read-only location could be a DVD, memory card with the r-o switch...

I had a few hundred images from a recent trip that showed sensor spots, especially in >f11 images. The same spots in exactly the same places. If you have sensor spots in one image, you usually have them in the same place for most of the others from that shoot. I’d like to be able to...

Altitude data is not transferred from Lightroom to ON1 RAW 2018 when creating a PSD file in ON1 RAW from a Lightroom CR2 RAW file. GPS Data is transferred with no problems. I import GPS information from GPX files into Lightroom and it would be very helpful both the GPS and Altitude data were transferred...

The one reason I am not using ON1 Raw as a standalone application is I have not found a way to see what albums images reside in from the browser.  I use albums to track images I have published in books, added to the web site, printed, etc.  In Lightroom, I have a button on...

I noticed the new feature in which one can edit the capture date. Which is really great!! Though I am missing something. I like to change the minutes also by offset for a group of photos. I sometime have that my GPS is, let’s say, 11 minutes off, compared to my camera time, which I...

In Browse could you add a feature to stack and/or mark photos from a series of pano images and/or HDR images with a special character or color or smething to immediately see it’s photos from a pano or it’s from a HDR? Like: Select six photos, click on Pano or HDR and – magic –...

Suggestion: When using the HDR conversion I can define presets on the “HDR Look” tab but not on the “Tone & Color” one. Could that be added?

I realized when I am in “Film Strip” or “Compare View” and I move a picture from the bottom into another “Cataloged Folders”, the view mode jumps back to “detail view”. This is time consuming while you’re sorting your images. To continue you have to switch back to the right view and also scroll to the...

Many people take photos simultaneously in JPG and RAW. This is particularly the case with FUJI, with its film simulations. It could also be interesting to find effects made with other software. The command would analyze the JPG photo, and find all the development parameters to apply to the RAW file, to get as close...

Hi, a magnifying glass that you can switch on/off in in browse mode to be able to judge the sharpness I would really like. At the moment you always have to set the view to 100% first. This would not be necessary with a magnifying glass that can be used specifically. I think this would...

One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

I sort my photos several ways, but the most important catalogues are done by location. However, when I want a photo of a particular subject that is found in many different shooting locations, I need to do a keyword search in all of the catalogued folders. And then I want to place that selection into...

I shoot a lot of black and white film and prefer to scan those in at 16-bit greyscale. 16-bit for the tonal headroom and greyscale (as opposed to color) for the space savings since it’s black and white. Looks like ON1 only supports high bitrate color TIFFs which kinda disturbs my workflow a bit too...

Please add a moving slider for comparing the before and after edit. The current A/B comparison, the slider is unmovable and makes us move the image instead of the slider.

Would be a great option if you can develop/add iCloud Drive as an online storage service while syncing with the mobile app. Currently only dropbox or google options. Most of us already pay/have the iCloud Drive by default while using the Mac/iphone. Thanks, keep up the great work   Cheers

It would be cool if I could select 2-4 images, optionally select an area on one of the matching photos to test, and have On1 come back and tell me which of the 2-4 images is the sharpest in that area.  That would make it quicker to cull shoots where you’ve taken multiple shots of...

It would be a nice feature if there was a duplicate finder. This would allow us to free up space on our hard drives by finding exact duplicates. Reviewing them. Then deleting them. As I have copied photos and videos on my hard drive and renamed them I have found that there are many duplicates...

Hi, the first step of my workflow is to pick and reject photos. It really drives me crazy that the P and X keys have to be used for this, and they are on opposites ends of the keyboard.  I have to move my hands and look at the keys frequently to do this process...

The new renaming tools in ON1 are very good. I would like to be able to save each renaming set as a preset so thar I could easily switch back and forth. I would also like the option to automatically begin each sequential renaming with the with the number 1.

I will lke to see option of saving a file with maximum size. (e.g. when saving a file i will like to control file size below 2MB/3 MB.) This is important as many websites allow to showcase your work but allow only if file size is below 2 MB)

It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...

I’d like to suggest the following functions be added to the print dialog: black point compensation – density is potentially smoother while maintaining tonal detail, enhanced rendering intent – additional options for managing out-of-gamut colors, free positioning / cropping of image – grab image corners/sides to resize within dialog box before printing; freeform re-sizing helps preview what...

It would be nice if the GPS field converted from Latitude and Longitude Decimal Entry to DMS. You could throw a error if it could not be converted.
