Hi Dan, thank you taking the time out to highlight the new features of PR 2018.1. FWIW, I’ve found it to be the most usable and stable platform so far and am looking to continued improvements and developments. Would you take a minute to expound on something you mentioned in the discussion on soft proofing? For example, if one applies a profile and the blacks appear with a gamut warning, you suggested increasing the blacks. But doesn’t this warning indicate that the blacks of the image exceeds the dmax of the printer/paper and increasing the blacks in an adjustment layer won’t actually accomplish anything? One can change the amount of black ink laid down (usually in the printer dialogue box) but this can result in pooling. In contrast with out of gamut colors, one can reduce saturation or shift hues to effectively bring those colors within the ink/paper gamut.

As an aside, when soft proofing and switching between Develop and Effects to create “adjustments” for output of an image soft proofing turns off and has to be repeatedly turned back on. It should retain state. Thanks.
