So we talked about the Science behind Luminosity Masks last week. While I love that stuff (the inner number nerd in me) you may have found it to be a little underwhelming because we were working on a Test Image.

This week we are going to take a look at the nerdy side of Luminosity Masking. We are going to break down the Luminosity Masking panel and get in the weeds. The nerdy stuff is my favorite, hey, I never claimed to be a cool kid :)
Hello ON1 Plus Community, I am so delighted to be here once again! In past months I have brought you several series on Workflow and Artistry. This month I am going to do something new. I am going to take the Topic of Luminosity Masking and dig deep into the weeds of it. So instead of a broad topic, we are going to look at a small topic and expand it out!
It is always a pleasure guest coaching here at ON1 Plus. There is such a high-caliber of photographers here in this community, and I am always ecstatic when I can teach you new tricks! Hopefully, after this month I have shown you a few more things about Artistry. It is not the easiest thing to comprehend nor teach.
In the final lesson of the Artistry in ON1 Photo RAW, we will take a top down look at all the aspects of finishing touches that we covered in this course. Beyond the overview, we will discuss the many presets I have provided for you and how you can use them as an “a la carte” menu for creating an artistic style!
Hello ON1 Plus Community and thank you very much for having me back again. It is not every year that I get the opportunity to Guest Coach this wonderful community twice, but boy am I glad I am here. As I have stated in the past many times, this community flourishes with creativity and passion. It is really a blessing to be a part of it.
We’ll start this month of portrait and studio photography with an introduction to working with people and pets. In this video I will cover the basic concepts and nuances involved with shooting these subjects. If you have any questions about this presentation please leave a comment!
Hi Plus Members, I am SO excited to finally be coaching for ON1! My name is Liz and you may recognize me from some of ON1’s training materials; I’ve been working with them for over 5 years now. I’m thrilled to be focusing on portrait and studio photography this month! It’s a topic I’m both passionate about and well-versed in – 90% of my photography work is portraiture in some form.
Watch the recording of my live Q&A session with ON1 Plus community. During the presentation, I answer questions about Visual Storytelling, post processing, camera gear and more!
I wanted to conclude this visual storytelling series with a deep dive into my post processing workflow. In this video, you will see exactly how I process three different photos from start to finish to emphasize the story.
Now that we all have a base understanding of what goes into a story, lets get everyone on the right path to start creating these engaging images. In today’s video we walk through a step by step in-field workflow process, talk about different mistakes to avoid out in the field and look at a number of case studies of some of my favorite images as we try to deterim why they have such impact. Please leave your thoughts and questions in the comments below!
Continuing on with our discussion on color, I see a lot of questions on the color channels we can see in our histograms. You could see this in camera if you have your histogram turned on, or you can also see it on all of the various editing apps under the Histogram panels. So what do these channels do? Do they really affect anything? Well, let’s take a look.
I have had such a great time as your guest coach this month. ON1 Plus is such a vibrant community. Open & positive dialog, great questions, and wonderful advice from all corners of the community. It is refreshing to be part of a place filled with photographers that want to improve their photography and are so willing to share their knowledge with others. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of it.
I want to leave you with a quote:
Thanks to everyone that attended the Live Q&A session yesterday. You all brought great questions. If you couldn’t attend, here’s the recorded session. We covered a lot of different topics.
